Kamloops Film Society Bringing the world to Kamloops through film, diverse programming and screen-based events at the Paramount Theatre.

The Kamloops Film Society (KFS), originally the Cariboo College Film Society, was formed in 1973, and currently operates the Paramount Theatre and the Twin Rivers Drive-In. In 2021 the KFS bought the MovieMart operations and continues to rent videos to the public. The KFS is responsible for events such as the Thursday Film Series, the Indigenous Film Festival (in partnership with Tk̓emlúps te Secw

épemc) and the annual March Kamloops Film Festival (KFF), which includes the Kamloops Independent Short Shorts (KISS) Festival. Our mission is to provide publicly screened, hand-picked, diverse, high-quality films. To show the best in independent, Canadian and foreign cinema in Kamloops. As well, the Society endeavours to promote and support filmmaking and related visual media in the Kamloops area by offering grants periodically throughout each year when able to do so.

Max Rockatansky returns as the heroic loner who drives the dusty roads of a postapocalyptic Australian Outback in an unending search for gasoline.⛽️

Arrayed against him and the other scraggly defendants of a fuel-depot encampment are the bizarre warriors commanded by the charismatic Lord Humungus, a violent leader whose scruples are as barren as the surrounding landscape.⛺️

Pegeen Flaherty’s life is turned upside down when a young man walks into her pub claiming that he’s killed his father. Instead of being shunned, the killer becomes a local hero and begins to win hearts, that is until a second man unexpectedly arrives on the scene…🎤🩸
