Hamilton’s premier cinema screening experience for art and independent films and a state-of-the-art exhibition space for music, readings, lectures, video streaming, and pubic meetings. We're proud to program q***r and 2SLGBTQIA+ content year round, including our Rainbow Reels film talk series hosted by Laura McVey.

This month we're showing a screening of the 2016 instant classic MOONLIGHT, winner of Best Picture at the 89th Academy Awards, to celebrate the films 10th anniversary.

Following the screening, stay and chat with Laura and your fellow audience members about the film. We have just the one showing on June 18 at 7pm, we'll see you there!

Living alone on her ancestral farm in southern Manitoba, she defiantly tends to her land, cultivating heirloom seeds passed down through generations, despite health challenges.

Shot by an all-female crew, the project captures the handmade materiality inherent in both the medium of film and Agatha’s tactile world.

Ousmane Sembène’s BLACK GIRL follows a young Senegalese woman who moves to France to work for an affluent white couple—and soon discovers their tiny apartment is both a literal and metaphorical prison.

Before the feature, we’ll screen Sembène’s pioneering short BOROM SARRET, which won first prize at the 1963 Tours Film Festival in France and portrays a struggling cart driver trying to survive in Dakar.

💛Both films will be shown in French with English subtitles. Presented in partnership with Centre Francophone Hamilton
