The Gorge Cinema A small town cinema with a flair for the arts and film. The Gorge Cinema is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) continuously running rep cinemas in Canada.

It is nestled in the heart of downtown Elora in the historic Commercial Hotel building. We offer state-of-the-art digital projection. This combination of quaint and cutting edge results in a small town cinema with a 'boutique' feel.

Over the holidays, the Gorge Cinema- housed within a very old 1800s building - experienced some serious roof issues, including leaks, flooding, and pipe damage.

Rather than rush a temporary fix, we’re using this quieter season to do what the building truly needs: thoughtful repairs and careful renovations, done properly and with respect for its history.

The Gorge Cinema has stood for generations, and our intention is to ensure it continues to do so - beautifully and safely - for many more to come.

We’ll share updates as soon as we have clarity on reopening timelines.
