A BAY OF BLOOD (and a free collectible barf bag to the first 50 people through the door!)

An elderly heiress is killed by her husband who wants control of her fortunes. What ensues is an all-out murder spree as relatives and friends attempt to reduce the inheritance playing field, complicated by some teenagers who decide to camp out in a dilapidated building on the estate.

SHE'S THE MAN

In this twist on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” the soccer-obsessed Viola is incensed when her high school cuts the girl’s soccer team and refuses to let her join the boy’s team. In order to be able to play, she disguises herself as her twin brother and takes place at his all-male prep school after he runs off to London.

A whimsical neo-fairytale fantasy adventure set in the wilds of Wyoming, evoking a menagerie of esoteric genres and dreamy cult-film vibes, where rebellious Hazel and her friends Jodie and Alice embark on a quest to unlock a coveted video game console. To earn the password, they must deliver a blueberry pie to enigmatic witch Anna-Freya, plunging them into a surreal odyssey of hunters and secret rites. When their childlike mission spirals into mythic peril, innocence collides with legend.

"I'm a big nerd for movies and related things. I did my undergrad degree in Film Studies at the U of A, but many of my favourite movies are those I discovered through Metro in one way or another. These days, I work in policy and curriculum in higher education. When I'm not at Metro, you'll probably find me digging around your local thrift stores and garage sales for retro video games, old CRT TVs, and Criterion Collection Blu Rays."⁠

Role: I'm a co-chair of the Policy Committee, and I sit on the Programming Committee.⁠
Length at Metro: I've been with Metro since 2022. I've been a fan of Metro for many years, and I've only fallen more in love with the theatre since getting involved in the behind-the-scenes work. ⁠
Favourite Movie: This is always such a tough choice. My answer will probably be different depending on the day you ask me. Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers is definitely up there. I watched it in my first year of University and it made such an impression on me, and I think it's shaped my taste a lot. Seeing how ostensibly trashy and lowbrow subject matter can come together to create what is, to me, a challenging and provocative filmic experience, will always amaze me.⁠

Nomi arrives in Las Vegas with only a suitcase and a dream of becoming a top showgirl. She quickly befriends Molly, who works at the high-profile Stardust Hotel, and lands a job at a seedy strip club. A chance meeting with Cristal, the Stardust's marquee dancer, and her powerful boyfriend, Zack, brings Nomi one step closer to realizing her dream. But, as she ascends to the top, Nomi begins to wonder if it's all worth it.

SIX STRING SAMURAI

In a post-apocalyptic world where the Russians have taken over a nuked USA and Elvis is king of Lost Vegas, Buddy is a ’50s rocker and wandering warrior rolled into one, too-cool package. Armed with his six-string in one hand and his sword in the other, Buddy is on his way to Vegas to succeed Elvis as King. Along the way, he saves an orphan who decides to tag along.
