Been a fun time in Albany - lot's more coming soon!

Intensive days are finally bringing the atmosphere I’ve been waiting for. Lighting the Sound slowly emerges across the landscape, stretching nearly 15 kilometers from end to end — an unseen scale of light art that is difficult to fully grasp until you stand in front of it.

We have spent many intensive days out there building the setup piece by piece. It wouldn’t have been possible without a crew of great people working together through those long hours, slowly bringing the installation to life across the landscape. There is still fine tuning to do, but the big picture is there.

This photograph was taken from about 8 kilometers away. Even from that distance, the lights rise along the horizon — quiet, distant, yet impossible to ignore.

So many great projects this year but ‘Moving Colour’ was a major highlight….it actually spanned over 2024/2025 and was a huge achievement for Chris Nixon and Kyle Hughes Odgers of Moving Colour Studio. Over a year of planning, 4 months of painting and 7km of art across 6 suburbs. Was super challenging to work out how to cover that amount of art on video/film but we found a way and I’m super proud of this one - was so fun going back to skateboarding roots and shooting a bunch of it analogue. A whole bunch of BTS mini docos coming down the line giving a much broader context for the whole project.

Moving Colour is a short film covering a 7km art trail produced by Perth based artists Kyle Hughes Odgers and Chris Nixon.
