Kazi Nazrul Islam (25th May, 1899 - 29th August, 1976) was a great Bengali polymath, poet, writer musician and revolutionary. Popularly known as Nazrul, his poetry and music espoused Indo-Islamic renaissance and intense spiritual rebellion against fascism and oppression. ibute to this great poet of Bengal, Kazi Nazrul Islam, effort was made to create a multi-dimensional Cultural Centre, a Centre of Excellence to cherish, promote and disseminate his philosophy, ideas, love for Motherland and his pioneering secular thoughts expressed through his poems and writings which triggered the emotion of the people during the freedom movement of our country. It was conceived that this Centre of Excellence would become a prestigious landmark of a cultural centre and an academy for research and promotion of his creative thoughts and ideas. The main components of this project are, an Auditorium with 400 sitting capacity, Museum for display of the memorials of the great poet, Seminar Hall with 200 seating capacity, Exhibition Hall, Audio Visual Mini Auditorium with 100 seating capacity, Guest House for the research scholars, Indo-Bangla Research Centre, Library Hall, Administrative Block, Open Air Theatre, Cafeteria, landscaping and driveway around the total complex, car parking arrangement for about 70 vehicles etc. The maximum height of the Complex is 19.2 mtr at main entry lobby and the top most level of Auditorium is at 17.750 mtr.
