🎬 Film Screening & Virtual Interactive Session: Kora Rajee (2005)
At Puna Khiri, we are bringing Indigenous cinema to the heart of the tea gardens with a special screening of Kora Rajee (Land Diggers), an award-winning documentary by Biju Toppo, one of India’s pioneering Adivasi filmmakers.
The screening will be followed by a live virtual interactive session with filmmaker Biju Toppo, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage in a meaningful conversation about the film, his journey as a filmmaker, and the role of Indigenous cinema in preserving culture, identity, and community narratives.
About Biju Toppo
Biju Toppo is among the first Adivasi filmmakers in India to use cinema as a powerful medium to challenge the misrepresentation of Indigenous communities in mainstream media. His films have received national and international recognition for documenting the lives, cultures, struggles, and aspirations of Adivasi people.
He is also the co-founder of Akhra, one of the earliest Adivasi film collectives dedicated to telling authentic stories from Indigenous communities.
