In honor of Lilian Press, I am releasing the story of the Governor's Scholars Program this week in four parts (this is part 1 and Lillian appears at 8:30). Lillian was the founding executive director of the Governor's Schoar Program. Mr. and Mrs. Press were the most amazing people. Every time I would visit they would insist on fixing lunch. We would just sit and chat and laugh. They both left their mark on Kentucky in so many ways.

We produced this film, one of fifteen for Bank of the Bluegrass. Effective storytelling always begins with research, integrity and authenticity. The folks at Bank of the Bluegrass are what my father would have called "good people." I can't even think about Beau Haddock not being with us. He was such a great friend and we had so many wonderful times together. There aren't enough words to describe this wonderful man. Many years ago, I commissioned Beau to arrange for me and sing "My Old Kentucky Home." I wanted something unique and knew that Beau would deliver. Thank you Beau for sharing your life and talents with so many. And, for being my friend. It was so hard to see you suffer so. We will miss you and will think of you everyday.

The tour is April 14 - 15 and some not often seen mansions will be open to the public. The Beaux Arts style "Samuel Grabfelder Mansion" will be open. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see inside. Trust me, it is wonderful!

A big shout out to Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau for the grant making this and other films about Old Louisville possible.
