This Italian mobster, the son of an even bigger mobster, believes that he will become fabulously wealthy with the arrival of the Chinese into MXGP. In my opinion, however, he is badly mistaken and will end up crying over spilled milk. A larger number of factory brands does not automatically mean more teams. Another aspect is that the current arrival of the KOVE and ZXMOTO brands is definitely not a result of China changing its overall view on motorsport. The entry of KOVE and ZXMOTO is purely the result of Zhang Xue’s inferiority complex. Manufacturers like SHINERAY, QJMotor, and other Chinese producers remain conservative. They strictly stick to their established business model, where the rule is that 'pennies make pounds.' In the end, world motocross will lose more than it gains with the arrival of KOVE and ZXMOTO.

MXGP of China: When Motocross Suddenly Looks Completely Different

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the FIM Motocross World Championship has successfully arrived in the 21st century! This past weekend in Shanghai clearly showed us that mud, sweat, and close battles on the track are long-gone relics of the past.

Who cares about the actual sport when you can admire giant screens, listen to pop stars during the breaks, and watch synchronized robot dances? This isn't a race—it's a pure cyberpunk experience! So what if the sporting level has completely vanished? Come on, don't be so petty.

The fact that only 17 riders lined up in the MX2 class, and a breathtaking 14 brave souls started in the premier MXGP category, is actually a brilliant strategic move. Fewer riders on the track means less dust, allowing the spectators a much better view of those dancing robots. And that, after all, is what matters most.

However, the biggest round of applause must go to the Chinese manufacturer JHL. Now that is what you call the business plan of the year! Since championship points are awarded down to 20th place in every single moto, all you basically need to do is start the bike, cruise to the finish line, and the manufacturers' championship points just roll in all by themselves.

Youthstream (the world motocross promoter) has simply discovered a guaranteed recipe for success: less sport, more variety show, and the certainty that nobody goes home empty-handed. Keep up the great work!
