BARRACUDA creates and produces topical, original and comedy-driven unscripted formats. Founded by Barry Poznick (who previously founded ZOO Productions in 1994 and built it into a multi-million dollar, international brand before selling it to UK-based, ALL3MEDIA), BARRACUDA teamed up with Electus in September 2013 with a focus on formats with a global appeal. Poznick’s shows have received Emmy No
minations (FOX’s ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER? and HUB’s FAMILY GAME NIGHT) and he earned a spot on the Hollywood Reporter’s Reality Power List, twice. Other shows he created and executive produced include: MTV’s BUCKWILD, SPIKE’s WORLDS WORST TENATS, DISNEY’s PRANKSTARS, NBC’s IT’S WORTH WHAT?, GSN’s LINGO, TRU’s SPEEDERS and SOUTHERN FRIED STINGS. Then, in 2012 while developing a game show with Oprah Winfrey, Poznick’s career took a slight left-turn when Oprah said she wanted him to HOST the show. His 12 episode stint as host of OWN’s “ARE YOU NORMAL, AMERICA?” gave him a new perspective on production. Poznick has also taken a special interest in merchandising, marketing and integration, merging business messaging with creative formats, resulting in brand-sponsored programming (like the Turbo Tax’s CELEBRITY TREASURE HUNT for NBC and P&G’s LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL: The Bunco World-Championship for Lifetime). The first series from BARRACUDA to hit the air is a partnership with Mark Burnett’s ONE THREE MEDIA called TRUST ME, I’M A GAME SHOW HOST. The comedy/game hybrid premiered in October 2013 on TBS. They also just finished shooting season 3 of THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE with Jeff Foxworthy for GSN, which airs May, 22 2014.
