Sailfish season is just around the corner. 🎣

Throwing it back to January and the 2026 Gold Cup Sailfish Championship Series, where the competition came down to the very end aboard L’Fish.

With winter approaching, it won’t be long before the kites are flying, the flags are up, and the sailfish are moving through. Get ready for another season of chasing sails. 🐟

Relentless.

There’s a version of that word that gets thrown around pretty easily.

Working late. Getting up early. Pushing a little harder than everybody else.

That’s part of it.

But I think relentless shows itself when nobody would blame you for saying,
“good enough.”

The captain who has run the same water a thousand times still checks the weather twice.

The mechanic who opens an engine at four o’clock on a Friday because somebody is leaving the dock at dawn.

The boatbuilder who spends another day getting something right that most people will never see.

Because the ocean has a funny way of finding the one thing you decided was good enough.

Anybody can build a boat for calm water.

You find out what was really built when the sky changes, you're thirty miles offshore, and the ride home suddenly asks everything of the boat underneath you.

That's the day all those decisions nobody noticed start to matter.

The extra glass. The stronger joint. The hour somebody could have saved but didn't.

Not because it looked better in the brochure.

Because somebody might depend on it someday.

We don't build boats to be gentle with. We build them to take the beating so the people inside them don't have to.

To me, that's relentless.

Not working hard when everybody's watching.

Taking something seriously long before the day comes when somebody needs you to have taken it seriously.

Take another insightful walk down the docks at Brielle!

Earlier this week, we shared a gorgeous Bayliss Sportfish. Today, we’re looking at something much smaller, but certainly no less unique—and one of our favorites.

We love spending time walking the docks, checking out different boats, and finding inspiration in the details. There’s always something to learn, and every walk helps spark new ideas for building a better boat.

Some days, the dock hands you the answer before you even ask the question.

This is a '64 Bayliss…splashed three or four months ago, sitting at Brielle. You can tell the quality of a marina by the boats in its slips, and this one's the cream of the crop. Same pop-up cleats we run on Release. Same attention in every line.

We're not out here just admiring it. Every dock walk is research…Viking, Jersey Cape, Post, Hatteras, all sitting a few slips apart, all teaching us something. But every once in a while, you find the one that's the real inspiration.

Big deal. And it is a big deal.

The 55’ Walkaround! 🚤

We currently have five 55’ Walkarounds in production, with launches coming soon.

The big question: Would you take the 55’ with a tower or without?

Let us know in the comments below!

Some boats are built to get you there. The 46 Express is built to keep you in it.

Refined lines. A cockpit that comes ready to fish. A cabin your family will actually want to spend the week in.

Every inch of this boat exists for one reason: to put you closer to the moment you built it for.

This isn't the boat you outgrow. It's the one you hand down.

Inheritance.
What you leave your kids isn’t always something you put in a will.

Sometimes it’s a watch.

A Rolex you wore for thirty years that, to everyone else, is just a Rolex, but to your son will always be your watch.

Maybe it’s a car. A piece of furniture.

Something you carried, used, scratched, repaired and lived with long enough that eventually your family stops thinking about what it is and starts thinking about who it belonged to.

I’ve always found that interesting.

Because the things worth handing down usually aren't made valuable by being kept perfect.

They're made valuable by the life that happens around them.

And I don't know many things that collect more of that life than a boat.

The first fish your son catches off the stern.

Your daughter taking the wheel for the first time.

Long runs home. Summers offshore.
Good years. Bad years.

Days with people who won't always be there.

At the time, you're not thinking about any of that.

You're just using the boat.
Then twenty or thirty years go by.
Nobody remembers what you paid for it.

They remember where you went.
Who was there.
The stories that somehow get better every time they're told.

And somewhere along the way, it stops being whatever name happens to be on the side.

It becomes Dad's boat.
Someday, somebody else takes the wheel.

It's the same boat with the same stories. Just a few new ones of their own.

That's one of the things I've come to appreciate most about building boats.

You build the boat once.

What a family does with it can last for generations.

That's inheritance.
