Our Saturday Night Midnight Specials return with Carrie in 35mm! See Brian De Palma's spellbinding horror film this Saturday night (6.6) in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

The film follows Carrie White (Sissy Spacek), a withdrawn and sensitive teenager, who endures relentless bullying from her classmates and abuse from her fanatically religious mother. When she begins to discover she has telekinetic powers, things take a dark and violent turn.

TONIGHT (6.1)! Check out the latest in our double feature series Kurt & Jodie: From Disney Kids to Movie Legends, with The Accused in 35mm (6:30pm) and Silkwood (8:45pm).

Jodie Foster won her first Oscar for The Accused, a legal drama loosely inspired by a 1983 gang r**e in New Bedford. Foster gives a complex and sympathetic performance as 24-year-old waitress Sarah Tobias, who is brutally r**ed by three men at a local bar while several patrons watch and cheer. Kelly McGillis plays District Attorney Katheryn Murphy, who is assigned to the case.

We've paired it with Silkwood, another Oscar-nominated film based on a true story. Meryl Streep stars as Karen Silkwood, who, after being exposed to a lethal dose of radiation, becomes a whistle-blower investigating potential wrongdoing by her employer. Kurt Russell plays Karen’s boyfriend, giving a subtle, layered performance as a compassionate, soft-spoken man whose patience gets pushed to the edge.

Next in our Thirsty Thursdays series, it's ROAD HOUSE in 4K, this Thursday, May 28th at 7:30pm.

The Double Deuce is the meanest, loudest and rowdiest bar south of the Mason-Dixon Line, and Dalton (Patrick Swayze) has been hired to clean it up. He might not look like much, but the Ph.D.-educated bouncer proves he’s more than capable — busting the heads of troublemakers and turning the roadhouse into a jumping hot-spot. But Dalton’s romance with the gorgeous Dr. Clay (Kelly Lynch) puts him on the bad side of a cutthroat local big shot.

See the indie horror film It Needs Eyes this Tuesday at 7:30pm followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers!

In the film, after suffering from a traumatic event, teenager Rowan is whisked away from home and taken to her estranged aunt's oceanside home indefinitely. Racked with guilt and unable to enjoy a normal summer, she drowns out the noise with increasingly bizarre, violent internet content. Soon, Rowan comes across videos of a missing woman known only as Fish Tooth, who she believes is calling out through the screen for help.

Our Kurt and Jodie double feature series continues tonight (Monday, May 25th) with Used Cars in 35mm (6:30pm) followed by Carny (8:45pm).

Kurt Russell’s first leading role as an adult in a feature film was Used Cars where he stars as a devious used-car salesman named Rudy Russo, trying to make a living working for his hopelessly honest and affable boss Luke Fuchs (Jack Warden). Luke’s brother Roy (also Warden) has a car lot across the street that is far more prosperous, but he wants to control both lots. It’s up to Russell’s Russo, and a jocular supporting cast to put things right.

Carny is an unusual drama about a small town waitress (Foster) who joins a traveling carnival. The film was co-written by The Band’s Robbie Robertson who also contributed to the score. Gary Busey stars as a dunk tank clown with Robertson as the cool frontman who seems to be groomed to take over from the carnival’s owner. When Busey hooks up with Foster, their relationship threatens the odd connection between the two friends as she tries to find a place for herself along the midway.

Check out the latest in our double feature series Kurt & Jodie: From Disney Kids to Movie Legends, with The Fox and the Hound in 35mm (2:00pm) and Bugsy Malone in 4K (3:45pm) on Sunday, May 24th.

In The Fox and the Hound, a feisty little fox named Tod is adopted into a farm family, and quickly becomes friends with a fun and adorable hound puppy named Copper. Life is full of hilarious adventures until Copper is expected to take on his role as a hunting dog — and the object of his search is his best friend! A genuinely emotional picture about friendship, this was the last Disney film to feature work by the surviving members of Walt Disney’s original team of animators, then known as Disney’s Nine Old Men.

We've paired it with Bugsy Malone, which is an old-fashioned American gangster picture with an all-kid cast. It’s good clean fun, with the warring gangs facing off with custard pies instead of tommy guns.
