We hosted our very first Retro Art Show and Swap & Sale here. Such a sad day for artist and creators, so please do yourself a favor and stop by 🎥

Well this is the saddest post I’ve ever had to make, this has been the best 10 years of my life. We will be closing in November - I’ll keep you posted on the final date. It’s been a struggle keeping up with bills this year and I could truly use a break and a recharge. We’re not giving up on our dreams so we will be back one day , the magic of De Nada will never be gone ✨I’m looking forward to spending time with my family , we can use some prayers and good vibes , life has brought on challenges in many types of ways ✨ I’ve been crying for weeks so please come in and hug me!! I’m not ready to say good bye so i won’t , but i wanted to get this out of the way. The October show is still on , please come enjoy a spooky good time , we will have plenty of sales to help us start clearing things out and pay up the rest of rent and utilities 💜 I love ya’ll and thank you for loving De Nada.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day

When Prey was released, audiences were introduced to Naru, a young Comanche woman whose courage, intelligence, and determination quickly made her one of the most memorable heroes in modern science fiction. Portrayed by Amber Midthunder, a citizen of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, the character brought Indigenous representation to the forefront of a major action franchise in a way many viewers had rarely seen before. 🪶

What made the film especially meaningful was its commitment to portraying Native people with authenticity and respect. Comanche culture, language, survival skills, and community relationships were woven into the story, allowing Indigenous characters to be shown as capable, complex, and deeply connected to their environment. Rather than relying on outdated stereotypes, Prey presented Native perspectives as central to the narrative, helping audiences see a different kind of hero on screen.

For many Indigenous viewers, Naru represented more than a successful movie character. She symbolized a broader shift in storytelling, one where Native voices are increasingly taking their place at the center of stories rather than the margins. The success of Prey demonstrated that Indigenous-led narratives can resonate with audiences around the world while remaining rooted in cultural identity, proving that authenticity and powerful storytelling belong together.
