A little early look at some stuff I’ve been working on, as well as a look at the cause of all of my distraction.

All of the purrmaids have been officially adopted, but these two get to hang out with us for a bit longer while their new families travel and have company. Their cuteness is extremely distracting, and it is hard to paint when there are kittens trying to splash in your paint water and play with your paint brushes. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Next stop for Adirondack Mermaid is Peru Town Market on July 26th. Pressed By Em and I will be there, enjoying all the vibes and visiting that Peru Town Market has to offer. We look forward to seeing you all there. 🩵🧜🏻‍♀️

Sansa and Arya (formally Kit and Kat) have settled in to their new home and think it’s PURRfect. I’m so lucky that I get all the kitten updates from the adopters.

All of the purrmaids have been adopted. We’re very lucky and two get to stay with us for a little bit longer while their new families travel.

Happy International Nonbinary People’s Day! 💛🤍💜🖤

➡️ What does it mean to be “nonbinary”?
Nonbinary refers to people who do not subscribe to the gender binary. Some use the term exclusively, while others may use it interchangeably with terms like genderqueer, genderfluid, gender non-conforming, gender diverse, or gender expansive. It can also be combined with other descriptors e.g. nonbinary woman or transmasc nonbinary. Language is imperfect, so it’s important to trust and respect the words that nonbinary people use to describe their genders and experiences.

Today, we celebrate our non-binary and gender non-conforming community at the start of International Non-binary People’s Awareness Week!

What does it mean to be non-binary?

💛 Non-binary is an identity embraced by some people who do not identify exclusively as a man or a woman.

🤍 Non-binary people may identify as being both a man and a woman, somewhere in between or as falling completely outside of these categories.

💜 While many also identify as transgender, not all non-binary people do.

🖤 Non-binary can also be used as an umbrella term encompassing identities such as agender, bigender, genderqueer or gender fluid.
