We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, formed in 2007 to preserve the site of the Denis Theatre on Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon and reimagine it for generations to come through meaningful film and arts programming to entertain, educate, and enrich.
The Denis Theatre operated for nearly seventy years in the heart of Mt. Lebanon, PA until it closed in 2004.
The project to revitalize the Denis Theatre into a film site and cultural center, which began in 2008, has created tremendous grass roots excitement anticipation in the community.
In the Fall of 2009 we launched our Capital Campaign, Phase 1 of which includes purchasing the building, renovating one auditorium, bringing all of the systems up to code, making the building handicapped accessible and bringing art films back to the South Hills as quickly as possible. In 2010, the foundation bought the building.
With your help, as well the support of private individuals, arts, youth and education oriented organizations and the large community that has come to love and miss The Denis Theatre we will be successful in our goal to bring movies back to uptown Mt. Lebanon.
