Why did I choose to participate in the School 2 Career program? The answer to that question cannot be put into a few simple words. It was only by fate that I came across this program. I happened to be with a close friend and his mother on a Saturday. I offered to come with him to visit an after-scho…

A Shot to Save the World

Take a Shot was inspired by a film called "The SHote Felt Round The World. Today April 12th is the 59th anniversary of the Jonas Salk vaccine. "A Shot To Save The World", the film now features Pittsburgh polio pioneers and Bill Gates and won a CINE Golden Eagle Award, will air today on the Smithsonian Channel. It is a great example of how Pittsburghers can change the world.

Just got back from touring Elizabeth Forward Middle School's Dream Factory, where students are computer programming, 3-D printing, building robots, designing games, making movies, and all sorts of cool things!

At any given moment in the quad of Elizabeth Forward Middle School, sixth-graders could be studying schematics for a 3-D printing project on an iPad. At the high school, it's no surprise seeing students hunched over library tables tweaking plans for an iPhone app. Even at the elementary level, lesso...

Steeltown Entertainment Project is happy to be part of the Joey Travolta Film Camp, Pittsburgh for teens with autism and had a blast at the Red Carpet Premiere this weekend where student films were unveiled on the big screen. Even though we were at Waterworks Cinema, it felt like we were smack-dab in the middle of Hollywood with the red carpet, stretch limos, and the paparazzi. Congratulations to all for a job well done!
