Mission The mission of Lionheart Theatre Company is to enrich, entertain and educate our community by making visual and performance arts accessible to the entire population. Vision Lionheart Theatre Company is the artistic, cultural, educational and performing arts center of Norcross – where great performances and events enhance and transform lives every day. We seek to nurture a vibrant arts community, foster artistic excellence, and inspire a creative exchange of ideas. Lionheart Theatre Company, based in Gwinnett County, is a nonprofit, 501-3c, all-volunteer, community theater. Its history is rooted in the drama ministry at Norcross Presbyterian Church (NPC), where Tanya Caldwell has served as Artistic Director since 1994. Tanya, a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BA in Theatre, has produced and/or directed numerous theatrical productions for both NPC and Lionheart Theatre Company. Lionheart understands that affordable ticket pricing is especially attractive for folks who hope to find quality, family entertainment in their own back yard. Lionheart’s $15.00 ticket price, with discounts for Senior, Kids and groups, includes a homemade dessert and beverage. Lionheart gives back to the community in a variety of ways, having used productions to solicit contributions for Norcross Cooperative Ministries, Plant a Row for the Hungry and The American Diabetes Association, the local foster children's program and Relay for Life, among other contributions. Community theatre allows folks who have experienced the theatre in high school or college to put their skills back to work, while maintaining a day job and time with the family. Adults and kids alike who have always wanted to give acting a try have a place in which to do it without feeling intimidated. There is something for everyone to do, from sewing to painting, building and baking, acting to searching for props. So come, join Lionheart , where we form bonds and memories that will last a lifetime. Business mailing address: 125 Lawrenceville St. Norcross, GA 30071

Lionheart Update: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention and Safety Measures (Update #2 - 3/16/2020)

Lionheart Theatre Company Update:

Due to the increasing concerns and updated regulations regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and social distancing, the Lionheart Theatre Company has decided to cancel the remaining four performances of our production of “The Man Who Came to Dinner.” This was not an easy decision as we had hoped to stay open, but it is necessary to protect our patrons, performers and crew from this pandemic.

The following scheduled performances are cancelled:

Thursday, March 19th at 7:30 pm (Industry Night)
Friday, March 20th at 7:30 pm
Saturday, March 21st at 7:30 pm
Sunday, March 22nd at 2:00 pm

If you have purchased tickets for any of the above cancelled performance dates, you can choose to donate the cost of your ticket to Lionheart. Or if you'd like a gift certificate to use at another Lionheart production instead, please email our box office at: [email protected]. Please include your ticket order number and mailing address in your email.

If you used a Flex Pass to purchase tickets, you will receive a credit back for each ticket allocated to this production.

Please note that we will not be rescheduling the cancelled performances of “The Man Who Came to Dinner” and will close the run of this production immediately.

Thank you to our amazing cast and crew for their hard work and dedication to this production. We appreciate our patrons for their continued support of Lionheart and of the performing arts.

Please stay safe during this challenging time and protect your health.

Best,

Lionheart Update: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention and Safety Measures

The Lionheart Theatre Company is taking the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) seriously. The safety of our patrons, performers and stage crew is our priority and we wanted to give our community an update regarding the actions we've taken to minimize risk during this outbreak.

At this time, we will not be cancelling any scheduled performances of our current production of "The Man Who Came to Dinner."

While we do have a small, intimate theatre space, our staff and volunteers have been busy sanitizing and wiping down common areas in the theatre, including the box office area, concessions window, dessert table, doors, light switches and all handrails.

Our backstage and dressing rooms have also been sanitized to protect our performers and crew.

We will continue to serve dessert during intermission, but have implemented increased safety measures while preparing, handling and serving these cakes and pies to protect our patrons.

We have also put out hand sanitizer for our patrons to use as needed.

Please stay safe, remember to wash your hands and if you are ill, please stay home.

Best,

The Lionheart Theatre Company

Last night my husband and I had the pleasure of seeing "The Man Who Came To Dinner"🙂 Such a fantastic production!! Scott King what a wonderful job you did in directing this show! Special shout out to Tanya, Marla, Debbie and Brandi...I loved your performances!!❤️ Although I didn't know the others in the cast - I just want to say - you all were awesome. So much talent on that stage. Thank you for a great night of entertainment filled with lots of laughter. 😁😁

What a fun show MIRACLE was! We had a blast! Congrats to cast & crew!
Hello! I am a student at UNG Gainesville (as you can see). I’m in Production I class, and I’m searching for some actors for my film assignment. We have a five minute film starting production in November, and were struggling with finding actors. We need three males, but will settle for two males and one female. The theme is horror. If anyone is interested or wants more info, please dm me or email me at [email protected]
My teen daughter attended The Rainmaker last night she wanted to share her appreciation with the cast and crew: "I saw your play tonight and it was amazing! I wanted to let the actors know how much I appreciated their work. Lizzie: Her character was so relatable, the actor that played it did an amazing job. I could visually tell Lizzie was struggling with who she was and the actor played it out with passion. Noah: The actor that played Noah was ASTONISHING! He definitely wan't afraid to use his voice. Loved it! The younger brother: His character was so goofy, funny, and like his dad said, " you say the smartest things at the dumbest times". The actor that played him blew me away with how well he did in the fight scenes! When he jumped and tackled Noah and they started fighting one another , I legit got scared! That's how real it felt. The Father: This actor played his part as a comforting and loving father so well. It was very moving how much he wanted for his daughter to believe in herself. File (main police officer): I felt the awkward tension between File and Lizzie when they were alone, talking. Both actors did such a good job with that scene, making it truly feel believable. Second Police Officer: Even if he didn't have a huge part to play he still gave it character. Finally the Rainmaker himself: The actor that played the Rainmaker Oh My Gerd He was GREAT! He played his character with such feeling and it was awesome! I already shipped him and Lizzie but when I saw them kiss, you best believe I was fan girling about that! Thank you for your hard work!"
Nice article in the Gwinnett Daily Post today! 🎭
