Me spending hours upon hours designing homes for people to live in, and then secretly wishing no one would touch anything

At my favorite UES home store pulling some gorgeous summer place settings. Summer entertaining doesn’t need to be complicated. A beautiful table is all about layering.

Start with a great foundation, add natural textures, mix in fresh flowers or greenery, and use pieces you already own. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s creating a table that feels inviting.

3 Design Rules to Follow:

1. Repeat color throughout the space to create flow and cohesion.
2. Design the room from a few vantage points. Every piece should support the overall vision.
3. Avoid too many focal points. One statement piece should anchor the room and give the eye a place to rest.

Your home doesn’t become personal because of the me, it becomes personal because of you. My job is to make your space feel polished, layered, and cohesive. Your job is to add the books, photos, artwork, and collected pieces that make it uniquely yours.

PSA: Your bed deserved better

I really don’t like a sad, frumpy bed, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend a ton of time making it. My easy fixes? Overstuff your pillows, add a coverlet at the foot of the bed, and use wrinkle resistant sheets. You’re welcome.

If you’re deciding where to spend money in a living room, always prioritize the sofa, lighting, and rug.

A high quality sofa sets the tone for the entire space, layered lighting makes a room feel warm and elevated, and the right rug grounds everything and makes the room feel finished.

These three pieces create the foundation of a beautiful, timeless living room regardless of budget.

Coco Chanel’s rule of thumb…”Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory”. Shelf styling is less about filling every inch and more about creating balance, texture, and intention. I always mix high and low pieces, layer in collected objects, and leave negative space so everything can breathe. The goal is a shelf that feels curated over time, not overly staged.

My go to formula:
• Books for height and layering
• Sculptural objects for dimension
• Natural elements like wood, stone, or greenery for warmth
• Personal pieces that tell a story
• Negative space to keep it elevated and refined

Summer is around the corner, which means entertaining season is officially here! Custom napkins are one of my favorite ways to make entertaining feel thoughtful, elevated, and personal because details matter! It’s one of those designer touches that looks high end but is actually so easy to do.

Some of my favorite places to create custom napkins:

Here are my tips on how to style a coffee table like an interior designer. Mix high and low decor pieces, add greenery for softness, embrace negative space, and incorporate collected objects that feel personal and layered. The goal is a coffee table that feels elevated, effortless, and lived in rather than overly styled. These are my go to coffee table styling tips for creating a luxury living room that still feels warm and inviting.
