MOVIE REVEAL #3 - 27TH ANNUAL LABOR DAY WEEKEND TRIPLE FEATURE EXTRAVAGANZA!!!™
The #3 movie of the Summer of 2026 is "Toy Story 5". The June 19th release is the biggest "Toy Story" movie yet (with over $578 million in the domestic box office and counting). The film registered the only sellout of the season when it sold out the Main Field on Saturday, June 20th. It didn't hurt the movie's prospects when Pixar's creative team decided to include Taylor Swift's #1 single "I Knew It, I Knew You" at the beginning of the closing credits.
"Toy Story 5" is not the first Disney/Pixar animation to land in a Labor Day Weekend show. The latest adventure of Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and friends was preceded by "Finding Nemo" (2003), "Cars" (2006), "Ratatouille" (2007), "WALL-E" (2008), "Up" (2009), "Toy Story 3" (2010), "Cars 2" (2011), "Brave" (2012), "Monsters University" (2013), "Inside Out" (2015), "Finding Dory" (2016), "Incredibles 2" (2018), "Toy Story 4" (2019), "Lightyear" (2022), "Elemental" (2023), and "Inside Out 2" (2024). In other words, this year's #3 summer movie will be the 17th appearance of a Pixar movie in an Extravaganza. 17-for-27 is not bad.
"Toy Story 5" will be the first feature on the Main Field during The 27th Annual Labor Day Weekend Triple Feature Extravaganza!!!™.
Clue #4 - This summer's #4 movie never finished at #1 over a weekend. However, its second weekend was better than its first, and its third weekend was better than its second. Its fourth weekend was better than its second, and its fifth weekend was better than its first. Simply put, this movie had legs and exceptional word of mouth.
