O'Malley Creadon Productions

O'Malley Creadon Productions O'Malley Creadon Productions is a full scale, media-production company based in Los Angeles, CA. We specialize in non-fiction storytelling.

Since it's founding in 2000, O'Malley Creadon Productions has been a leading content creator in the documentary scene, with additional expertise in the arenas of commercial and television as well. We've twice been nominated for Grand Jury Prizes at the Sundance Film Festival, short-listed for the
"Best Documentary Feature" award at the Academy Awards in 2008, and received the Independent Spirit A

ward in 2014 for our latest feature documentary. Our first feature length documentary "Wordplay" was a breakout hit at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and went on to become the second-highest grossing documentary of 2006. It was nominated for both a Critic's Choice Award and National Board of Review Award for "Best Documentary of 2006". "Wordplay" was the "Best Reviewed Documentary Film of 2008" according to Rottentomatoes.com (previous winners were "Spellbound", "Super Size Me", and "March of the Penguins"). Our follow-up documentary "I.O.U.S.A." is a non-partisan examination of America's national debt. It premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival of January 2008, was released in August 2008 in over 350 theatres nation wide at the height of America's financial crisis, and aired as a two-hour special on CNN ten days before the inauguration of now President, Barack Obama. A special screening of the film at the Library of Congress was seen by over 50 members of Congress and their staffs. The film was short-listed for the Academy Awards and was also nominated for a Critic's Choice Award. Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times called "I.O.U.S.A.," "the most frightening film at Sundance", and Roger Ebert named "I.O.U.S.A." one of the "Top 5 Documentaries of 2008." Our latest feature documentary, "If You Build it" (2014), follows two artist/designers that were commissioned to teach creative design to the students of Bertie County North Carolina, one the poorest counties in North Carolina, and the country.
