The Good Food Festival & Conference is a dynamic multi-day event focusing on regional and national issues integral to building local, sustainable food systems by supporting regional family farmers and food processors. The Conference draws local and national Good Food advocates to speak and exchange ideas and best practices. Conference programming supports the growth of farms and food businesses which leads to job creation and economic development. FamilyFarmed.org brought the Good Food Festival & Conference to Santa Monica in 2011 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Santa Monica Farmers Markets. Now the Good Food Festival & Conference returns to the Los Angeles area for a second year November 2-4, 2012. This dynamic, three-day event features local and nationally significant speakers, great food, and a community “barn raising” to build a hoop house supporting an urban school garden. Programming focuses on Good Food issues that matter to Californians – community building; safe, healthy food jobs; and the GMO labeling measure, Proposition 37. The Good Food Festival & Conference LA is produced by FamilyFarmed.org in cooperation with the Santa Monica Farmers Market, the City of Santa Monica and the City of Pasadena.
