Laura has also acted in hit shows such as Treme, Friends and more than 50 commercials. Laura recently released her first book Know Small Parts: An Actor’s Guide to Turning Minutes into Moments & Moments into a Career with a foreword written by Academy Award-Winner Richard Dreyfuss. Laura resides in New Orleans where she writes a blog LAtoNOLA.com.

In an effort to promote positive images of women of ethnic diversity by bringing together leaders from the world of Hip Hop, the entertainment industry, and the corporate world…founder MC Lyte, the legendary lyricist and iconic hip-hop pioneer, created Hip Hop Sisters Network. Knowing all too well what this industry is about through first-hand knowledge, she also wanted to provide a platform for female artists to showcase their talents in an environment of encouragement and respect. Needless to say, it is an honor for the LA Film School to be one of the stops MC Lyte will make in this long awaited experience and interactive “Legend Series Weekend,” bringing with her hip hop legends…YoYo, Moni Love, Lady of Rage, MC Smooth and host of others.
“HIP HOP SISTERS: WHO ARE THEY, WHERE ARE THEY, WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY” will be Moderated by the legendary MC Lyte.
