Students – Win a Pass to Attend A Panel discussion “HIP HOP SISTERS: WHO ARE THEY, WHERE ARE THEY, WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY”, next Friday, December 21st!

In an effort to promote positive images of women of ethnic diversity by bringing together leaders from the world of Hip Hop, the entertainment industry, and the corporate world…founder MC Lyte, the legendary lyricist and iconic hip-hop pioneer, created Hip Hop Sisters Network. Knowing all too well what this industry is about through first-hand knowledge, she also wanted to provide a platform for female artists to showcase their talents in an environment of encouragement and respect. Needless to say, it is an honor for the LA Film School to be one of the stops MC Lyte will make in this long awaited experience and interactive “Legend Series Weekend,” bringing with her hip hop legends…YoYo, Moni Love, Lady of Rage, MC Smooth and host of others.

“HIP HOP SISTERS: WHO ARE THEY, WHERE ARE THEY, WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY” will be Moderated by the legendary MC Lyte. It will be a panel discussion showcasing these female emcees of the past and propel them into the present. They will share with their fans their entertainment industry experiences; along with their personal storms and triumphs.

Having such a powerful event on our campus is an opportunity like no other and as you can imagine, to be a part of something of this magnitude requires heart, passion, respect and the utmost appreciation for wanting to know more about life as a female MC in this world of Hip Hop! Only 40 FREE seats are available!!! You want to be a part of this monumental movement, LISTEN UP!!!

In 500 words or less, write an essay sharing… #1. If you had the opportunity, how would you make a positive difference in the Hip Hop community and #2. WHY do you feel females are essential to the Hip Hop industry? Entries MUST BE RECEIVED no later than 3pm, WEDNESDAY, December 19th, NO EXCEPTIONS! Email your Essay to Ernesta Mensah at [email protected]. Take your time…focus on grammatical errors, punctuation, misspelled words, show us that you WANT to be a part of something so special!
