Since his move from Joshua Tree to Los Angeles over 20 years ago, Brent has managed to position himself as arguably one of Los Angeles’ leading entrepreneurs and the most powerful event producers in the country. From his event production skills to his various club nights, Bolthouse has carved out a niche that has made him more than just a local force. In fact, his cachet in the Los Angeles scene l
anded him a role on MTV’s The Hills, taking Brent from local phenomenon to national personality. In March of 2010, Bolthouse, along with business partner Jenifer Rosero, partnered with nightlife veteran Guy Starkman and newcomber Darren Dzienciol to open the highly-anticipated Trousdale, a new ultra lounge on Sunset Boulevard. Trousdale opened to critical acclaim and most recently hosted the 15th Anniversary of Victoria's Secret SWIM Catalogue. In addition to his work on Trousdale, Bolthouse is also partner in Il Sole restaurant on Sunset Blvd and is currently working on a planned boutique hotel and the re-launch of Club Lingerie, a favorite of rock legends from the 1980s. In November of 2009, 944 Media, LLC (‘944 Media”) (www.944.com) appointed Bolthouse and business partner Jenifer Rosero as publishers of 944 Magazine Los Angeles. Bolthouse and Rosero develop 944’s brand relationships in Los Angeles and continue to grow the magazine which celebrates Los Angeles’ influential artists, restaurateurs, celebrities and style makers. In late 2005, Bolthouse Productions and SBE Entertainment Group (SBE) announced a major partnership that allowed the two entities to join forces to develop, promote and operate nightclubs, supper clubs, restaurants, lounges and bars. The addition of Bolthouse to SBE rounded out a virtual dream team that already included acclaimed designer Philipe Starck. Together with SBE, Bolthouse collaborated on high-profile nightlife venues and fine dining establishments including the white-hot Hyde Lounge, the renowned nightclub Area, Foxtail, Katsuya, Chef Michael Mina’s XIV restaurant and the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. In 2009, Bolthouse officially ended his partnership with SBE but continues to operate Bolthouse Productions as an independent entity. Along with their other business ventures, Bolthouse and Rosero continue to run Bolthouse Productions, the event production company they formed in 1990 that has boasted clients such as HBO, Mercedes Benz, T-Mobile, The Palms Hotel and Casino and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2010, Bolthouse Productions formed a strategic alliance with Wolfgang Puck Catering to offer clients a one-stop destination for the best in special event execution and catering. In addition to Bolthouse’s current projects, his early years include impressive milestones. He has promoted nights at the infamous Roxbury, The Viper Room and the House of Blues and has also opened hotspots such as Avalon, Babylon, Opium Den and Sunset Blvd.’s Coffee House. Aside from his business ventures, Bolthouse is a photo enthusiast and often spends his free time behind his Leica M camera. In 2009 he exhibited his first photo show entitled Greenland: A Beautiful Lie. Bolthouse is a regular contributor to Mean magazine and is a much sought after DJ and radio host. He currently is a guest-host for DJ Mathieu Schreyer on KCRW FM (89.9) and co-hosted a weekly radio show “Feel My Heat” on Indie 103.1 with Danny Masterson. “Feel My Heat” was rated number one in the Indie category by Rolling Stone.
