Hello!
My name is Stephanie Mack.
Most of you ONLY know me as a seasoned beauty professional, however, I have grown and evolved into an award winning director, writer and producer.

Nearly a decade ago, I inherited the rights to the life story of Dr. Prince C. Spencer. He was the last living, original member of the1940s famous Four Step Brothers. They were elite entertainers; world renowned for their acrobatics, lightening speed tap dancing. Contrary to popular belief, they were the FIRST Black Dancers to receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, not the Nicholas Brothers.

When I discovered that the 4SB were under celebrated and forgotten pioneers, I immersed myself into the lost treasures of their legacy. Narrated by veteran actor Hawthorne 'Big Red'James, this rare, Black History jewel, brings awareness and reminds us to stay humble to the struggle.

Please join me at the The Promenade at Howard Hughes Center for the 25th Annual African American Film Marketplace on October 26th, 2019. The tickets are $25 and my screening time is 5p-7p. You will be enlighten with old Black Hollywood history.

For more information visit www.BHERC.org.

Hope to see you there!

Over the last 7 years, I have produced a historical 20 minute documentary, entitled, 'The Life of Dancer', celebrating Dr. Prince C. Spencer, a forgotten BLACK Entertainment trailblazer. Dr. Spencer was 98 years old and the last surviving original member of the world famous tap dancing group, The Four Step Brothers. They were the FIRST Black Dancers to receive a STAR 🌟 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Unfortunately, on October 3rd, 2015, Dr. Spencer passed away from medical complications in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In August 2017, the #LATapFestival, screened the historical documentary during their annual tap week extravaganza. Thanks to Living Tap Legend #IveryWheeler, this documentary has now evolved into a LIVE theatre stage play entitled, 'The Speakeasy Revue,' featuring The Four Step Brothers!

The Speakeasy Revue,' is a nostalgic, old fashioned musical journey celebrating the BEST of the 19th century entertainers! The spirit of the Four Step Brothers, along with Billie Holiday, Harry Houdini, Josephine Baker and the Jimmie Lunceford Band, inform the new age millennials on where singing, dancing and true entertaining all began!

Stephanie Mack is the Enterpreneur’s Entrepreneur!

Never sitting still long enough for grass to grow under her feet, Steph Mack was penning an urban adaptation of, 'The Spirit of Jezebel', when Dr. Prince C. Spencer's younger brother Lummie Long, shared stories about his famous brother.

Intrigued, Mack flew to Las Vegas and, with iPhone in hand, filmed the last known interview of the Black entertainment trailblazer. Together with Spencer's private collection of photos, Mack produced a 30 minute documentary celebrating the late pioneer.

For 7 years Mack has worked pain-stakingly on the project, trying to produce a quality film worthy of the amazing life of Dancer. “It was like his story grabbed ahold of me and wouldn’t let go!” says Mack about her directorial debut.

Unfortunately, Dancer passed away on October 30th, 2015, before he could see his story on the big screen.
