HAPPY EARTH DAY EVERYONE!!

This is the best best best day in the entire year because we can literally ALL celebrate it! We all live on earth!! It’s the one thing (as far as we know) that we all have in common!! The earth is so beautiful.

Today I find myself wishing for the entire population of earth to start caring. To wake up. To stop turning a blind eye. To stop becoming desensitized to the large issues of the world. We can do something!! We can make earth healthy again!

Let’s do what we can by donating to organizations that want to make a change!

Reusable tea products!

Using glass tea pots that have built in tea infusers, single cup infusers, or reusable tea bags can really help the environment!!

Tea bags often contain harmful plastics. Switching over is great for your health and your pocket book! Loose leaf tea is a great purchase and can be found all over the place!!!

If you feel you MUST buy tea bags, purchase them from BIGELOW! Their packaging is 100% biodegradable!

Though I would recommend reusable tea products because they do not need to be continuously manufactured which reduces the amount of carbon emissions.

Silicone Pan Liners!!!

Foil, parchment paper, etc. are waste creating materials. We can not recycle them due to food residue.

Replacing these items with silicone reusable oven pan liners will reduce your waste AND your grocery bill!

You can get these at Walmart and target or any cooking/baking supply store!! They’re good for the earth, good for your bank account, and good in general.

Biodegradable sponges

First of all sponges literally already exist in nature so the fact that they make them out of plastic or fleece is kind of odd to me.

A lot of sponges are made from biodegradable materials and they work just as well if not even better!

Also if you’re looking for a financially friendly eco hack how about some people washable materials that can be thrown in the dishwasher or in with your laundry? Small towels or old T-shirt material works just as well for scrubbing dishes!

Unpaper towels ❤️

These are reusable towels that can be rolled up just like regular paper towels or stacked next to your sink!

17 trees and 20,000 gallons of water are used to make one ton of paper towels!!!! If you don’t think that’s a lot we use on average 254 MILLION tons of paper towels a year!!!! Now multiply that by 17 and that’s how many trees we kill a year for paper towels ALONE!!! That’s such a big deal!

You can make a difference by getting reusable towels. If the habit of reaching for a paper towel is too engrained in your brain, unpaper towels are a PERFECT swap! You just wash them and roll Em or stack them back up. Not to mention you save money forever on paper towels!

Things you can replace in your kitchen!

1. Unpaper towels - these are washable towels that you can even wrap up into a roll if you want to feel like you’re still using regular paper towels!
2. Biodegradable sponges - these sponges are ... biodegradable... LOL they work and they’re also good for the environment! You can also get washable sponges.
3. Bamboo straw - this is a reusable straw that is eco friendly to make. Reusable Plastic and metal straws are so great if you already have them but the process of making them is harmful.
4. Reusable oven pan liners - you can throw these in the dishwasher. You’re also saving money on foil or parchment by using a reusable product instead!
5. Tea infusers and loose tea - tea bags release harmful chemicals into your tea and you just throw them in the trash when you’re done with them. This can also save you money because you get to choose exactly how much tea to use! Also many loose teas are less expensive!

These are all amazing swaps for your eco friendly kitchen!! Even doing one or a few of these things can help your bank account and the environment!!! ❤️

What do you dream about and what can you do to make your dream possible?

I dream about living in a world where everyone cares. Where everyone cares enough to do what is right. Where everyone cares about the Earth. I am making my dream possible by spreading information. I am also organizing a trash pick up in my community and we will recycle everything that is recyclable. Starting small is okay! Doing anything is doing something.

I can’t wait to provide more information about living a sustainable lifestyle.

I will be talking about kitchen products next so keep a look out :)
