Tip Tuesday: Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods. You need more than 40 different nutrients for good health, and no single food supplies them all. Your daily food selection should include bread and other whole-grain products; fruits; vegetables; dairy products; and meat, poultry, fish and other protein foods. How much you should eat depends on your calorie needs. Also, it it good practice to make sure you add a multivitamin/ multimineral to supplement your food. Most of the food today, even organic, is void of the vitamins, minerals and enzymes to give you the proper balance nutrients. If you were to rewind 50 years into the pass the soil wasn't eroded, over farmed and the microorganisms were in the 100 trillions.

Weigh In Wednesday: Thank you, Angie for sending me this picture. This is a great example, to show that the scale always lies. When I'm dealing with a new clients, I make sure to always give them this expectation, ahead of time before we begin a lifestyle change/ transformation.

Why does the scale lie?

The scale cannot determine how much muscle, fat and water a person is carrying a the time of measurement or the ratio of the 3 combined. Thank you mysweetlife for making illustration.

Fun Friday: Are you happy? Oftentimes, we are more than likely not happy with our current diet, workout routine, job, relationship, etc... you get the point. At the end of the day, if something is not allowing you to be happy in your current situation, we have an moment in time or that proverbial window, to look at our situation to change it. If something your doing doesn't support an happy environment and you don't enjoy what you doing with dieting, exercise, finances or relationships (friends, family & business), only you can change. Don't get caught in an bias, ideologies or any dogmas that robes you of your happiness. "Choose life and live".

Workout Wednesday This post isn't about exercise but it's primary focus, is about the psychology of why some succeed with and why others don't meet their fitness goals. This one strategy will triple your fitness/ personal goals.

Intention - a thing intended; an aim or a plan

Exercise with intention and not motivation. What does that mean? If you don’t plan out your behaviors, then you rely on your willpower and motivation to inspire you to act. But if you do plan out when and where you are going to perform a new behavior, your goal has a time and a space to live in the real world. This shift in perspective allows your environment to act as a cue for your new behavior.
To put it simply: planning out when and where you will perform a specific behavior turns your environment into a trigger for action. The time and place triggers your behavior, not your level of motivation.

Example: During the next week, I will partake in at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise on [DAY] at [TIME OF DAY] at/in [PLACE].

Workout Wednesday: This is a pretty cool animated picture http://www.likecool.com/Gear/Pic/Gym%20GIF/Gym-GIF.gif Download and use it as a reference. Thank you Joan for sharing this with me, even though, I'm posting it months later. Now, I would like to challenge you take 3 of the 48 exercises and use this in a tabata format (20sec/ 10sec X 9 X 3), 20 seconds push yourself as hard as possible/ 10 seconds rest.
Example: First 3
1 20 sec move
10 sec rest
2 20 sec move
10 sec rest
3 20 sec move
10 sec rest
Back to exercise 1 and do it again to exercise 3, when finished back to exercise 1 and finish it out strong. This format last for about 5 minutes, do it again 2 more times and you got yourself a 15min workout.

Tip Tuesday: Eat in a relaxed environment. It takes about 20 minutes after you begin eating for your mind to realize that you are full.

Have you ever noticed how different the atmosphere is in a fast food restaurant compared to a higher end sit down restaurant? Usually fast food restaurant have bright lights and either upbeat music playing in the background or no music playing at all. And of course the purpose is not only to get your food fast but to eat it fast as well. However in sit down restaurants, the lighting tends to be much dimmer and almost always had softer more relaxing music. What if I told you these differences in atmosphere cause about an 18% difference in the amount of calories you have during a meal.

Motivation Monday: This is more of an inspirational but it will motivate you to be a better person on a daily bases. I had the opportunity to help two strangers through a friend, that are of age. I saw that the kitchen needed some help, so I took action and cleaned up. They came out and saw that everything was done. If you could you see their face, they were speechless and thankful but they were confused at the same time. It's not about helping somebody, at the end of the day. Everything is reciprocal, what is done in the dark will come to light, good or evil. There is always a reward for the good or evil you do, embody more good in your life and it will come back to you in more than one way.

1. Chipotle’s and Panera Bread were the only fast food chains that earned “A” ratings; they are the only two that transparently affirm the majority of the meats served come from antibiotic-free producers.
2. Most fast food restaurants are still serving meat and poultry raised on antibiotics, despite the known health risks. Of the 25 restaurant chains included in the report, 20 received a “Failing” score.
3. The US uses nearly 30 million pounds of antibiotics each year to raise food animals. This accounts for about 80 percent of all antibiotics used; nearly 70 percent of which are medically important for humans.

Workout Wednesday: Do you make this common mistake when using the scale? When using the scale, we focus on just the two digit or three digit number. What do the numbers actually mean? Well, we know for sure it's weight, but how accurate can this be? It's not accurate at all... This what the scale cannot determine when standing on it.
* Time of the day - It's best to weigh for thing in the morning
* Meals eaten during the day - You can weigh up to 8 pounds more depending what you ate before 8pm
* Wearing Clothes - You will want to be skinless on the scale
* Weighing before & after a workout - Loss of water
* Menstraul Cycle - Women retain more water during this time
* Fat / Muscle Loss - Since they weigh the same, it's a good practice to have someone tale measurements and use calipers to test your body fat.
