Transformers Age of Extinction is potentially, potentially. the. worst. story. I've ever watched unfold on screen. A disjointed script interspersed with moments of clarity, where I almost understand what the point of the action is.
The main characters (not including the Autobots) stories were so thin that I didn't care a hell of beans about them. Why were they working together? Why were they fighting? And who were they actually fighting? All of that was unclear.
With nothing to anchor my emotions or thoughts I find myself on Facebook...during the movie. Pathetic.
The actors actually read the script before they signed their contract, right?
Prayers go out to Tracy Morgan after his accident last weekend. Looking forward to hearing of a full recovery for him and his friends who were injured as well.

I grew up watching this great iconic actor in films like Girl Crazy with Judy Garland. We have lost a giant in the industry today.

I really enjoyed watching the 2010 film, The First Grader. It was moving, and beautiful. I knew nothing about Ugandan history, and I really enjoyed that aspect as well.
We had a long and very productive workday. 22 interviews in six hours! It was great working with these amazing teachers and educators, and hearing all the great stuff they had to say about their students and Common Core.
And I learned a ton about New York Public schools!
Heading out on a road trip with my buddies to do interviews for a really great client in Albany!!

From Week 4 of my Scandinavian film class, studying contemporary filmmaker Lars Von Trier. He is an art film artuer who said, "A film shall be like a stone in your shoe." And even though films like that ever enjoy too much popularity, they are shown around the globe at film festivals and receive prizes and attention from critics.
I learned about Ingmar Bergman in the third week of my Scandinavian Film class. What a legendary filmmaker in the 50s and 60s. And, most importantly, I got a 100 on the third week quiz!
Working all day on a script with the amazing director Michael Pollak, makes a person antsy to get on a film set! Getting closer to that goal day by day!
Week 2 of my Scandinavian TV and Film class. I just finished my analysis paper of "Ordet", the 1955 masterpiece film by director Carl Th Dreyer.

My favorite child actor. Shirley Temple Black lived a long and successful life. Kudos!

I was pleased to learn that the most popular film genre in the Scandinavian countries are thriller/crime. Great place for distribution of Beyond Repair! (Although I know it will do well around the world!)
I've started my 10 week course on Scandinavian Film and Television. I love the auteur work of directors, like Suzanne Bier's In A Better World, where films are based on life, not literature, and where the director has artistic control. They are different than most American films and that makes it an interesting study.
I'm currently taking the webinar "Learn How To Accelerate Smart Decision Making" from Decisyon. Learning to use collaborative business intelligence to move by business forward.

Just watched The Way Way Back by the writing team that brought us The Descendants, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. They've got a knack for depth and humor. And being Academy Award winners probably helped to bring on that incredibly talented cast- Toni Collete, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, etc.
What a shock that a small, no-budget for advertising songwriter would try to promote his song with the very same language that is used in full page magazine ads by the studios who are promoting their Academy nominated songs, would have his nomination rescinded.
An Oscar nomination for the song 'Alone Yet Not Alone' has been rescinded, and the songwriter says he's ready to fight.
I spoke at the Filmmakers Leadership Forum yesterday and was honored to be among some great Christian Filmmakers like Chuck Paris and Karen Covell founder of the Hollywood Prayer Network, as well as listen to GI Film Festival founders Brandon and Laura Millett.
Here's to all the writers out there...The top 100 film quotes. It's interesting to me that the most recent is 1997. It makes me wonder how long it takes for a saying to be popularized enough to make the top 100 list, and how many times
it goes around the world to get there. http://www.afi.com/100years/quotes.aspx

The Screen Actors Guild Awards honored the casts of AMC's "Breaking Bad," ABC's "Modern Family," and David O. Russell's "American Hustle" while singling out the leads of "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Blue Jasmine."
The SAG Awards honored the casts of AMC's "Breaking Bad," ABC's "Modern Family," and "American Hustle" while singling out the leads of "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Blue Jasmine."
American Hustle was a jolt to my creativity. And it showed that a foundation of excellent writing is key to building a great film.
