According to the Los Angeles County Assessor’s office the building at: 4549 Whittier Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90022 was built in 1922 with an effectively-built date of 1928.It was built in 1922 with an effectively-built date of 1928. It opened as the Red Mill Theatre in 1926 and remodeled in 1937. Architects / Designed by: Clifford A. Balch and Floyd E. Stanberry ★ Seated: 916 It was later the venue where Dick "Huggy Boy" Hugg, a legendary L.A. Disc-Jockey who was instrumental in promoting Rock-N-Roll music in the 1950's. He held an American Bandstand-like program here in the 90's. Hugg was a DJ off and on all the way until 2002. He died in 2006, but his name lives on. The theatre now houses a church.
