Live Stream Schedule | 58th Ann Arbor Film Festival

We are thankful to have had our festival prior to the global changes due to Covid 19. And we thank all of you who came out to enjoy independent film. As many festivals postpone or cancel, others have found alternate ways to continue with their festival online, giving all of you an opportunity to continue to enjoy independent film while sequestered at home!. The Ann Arbor Film Festival is an example!. https://www.aafilmfest.org/live-stream-schedule?mc_cid=66386b1dfc&mc_eid=88aa163de9

Each program is different. Films are not rated. All programs are intended for mature audiences, unless otherwise noted. Some films have imagery of a stroboscopic nature.

Festivals are always so helpful to us indie filmmakers. Had no idea there was one based in Green Bay! I recently got to check out a film called, "Empathy, Inc." at a local festival, and I think the members of this page would really enjoy a fast-paced sci-fi thriller, that really utilizes its independent budget. The sets and effects really felt big-budget and the acting was pretty top-notch. Its also now available on Amazon. I highly recommend. https://www.amazon.com/Empathy-Inc-Zack-Robidas/dp/B07Y2G5FJ2
Awesome looking festival, hope it was a good year! It’s always great to see fresh voices in cinema participating in things like this. This reminded me of another great new voice in cinema, Yedidya Gorsetman, and his sci-thriller Empathy Inc. I saw it recently and thought it was great so I figured I’d recommend it. Taking notes from The Wolf of Wall Street, Gorsetman presents a story of a selfish investor, Joel, and a twisted web of lies and secrets as he begins to lose his own sanity. Throughout, we see Joel become desperate and greedy, increasingly in need of more money and it offers a nuanced look at corruption in business and advanced technology. A great part of its streaming release is it bridges the gap between the indie scene in NYC/LA and brings it to places like Green Bay.
I’m looking forward to seeing the films which will appear at this festival. I value film festivals so much for their ability to highlight independent films, especially as a film major. The most recent indie film I’ve seen is Empathy, Inc., a sci-fi/thriller set in a twisted world where the corrupt and moral aspects of society battle as body switching through the use of virtual reality technology is introduced. Being able to see how this technology, twist each characters understanding of reality was fascinating. I saw the film on VOD and the trailer on youtube.
Hello everyone! Just had the chance to watch the new supernatural thriller from Director David Allensworth and really enjoyed it and wanted to share with any other possible horror film fans. Very unique approach to a re-telling of the classic "demon haunting" storyline, with some added plot twists that really made the movie. It can be streamed online for whoever wants to watch! Great choice for a movie to see over the weekend.
Hey everyone!! SOUL TO KEEP is a new indie horror film and I highly recommend it; I'm obsessed. Its slow buildup to the outright terrifying demons and spirits is incredible. The cinematography, the performances, and the ending blew me away. It's available now on digital and on demand and you have to look into it. There is a moment of body horror that Kate Rose Reynolds does that has been stuck in my brain forever. If you're interested you can watch it literally right now!
The subject of my short documentary (and GBFF 2014 official selection) "Poustinia", the remarkably insightful artist and Earth champion Gendron Jensen, has been diagnosed with cancer. Fellow artists have started a GoFundMe page for his care. Here is the link: https://www.gofundme.com/helpgendron?pc=&rcid=r01-155025416707-b828c77687484544 #documentaries #cancer #nature #artist

If any action movie fans out there are looking for a good indie action film to watch, I just saw Hunting Emma and walked away pretty impressed. It's about a girl who is chased through the South African desert by a group of thugs she witnesses kill a police officer. I really liked Leandie Du Randt as Emma, she was a real badass. It's also cool to see the movie have a father teach his daughter survival skills, since in most movies it is a father teaching his son. If you want to give it a watch you can do so here: http://geni.us/HuntingEmma and I'll link the trailer below. Fair warning about the trailer though, it is the international audiences one, so it gets the tone of the movie all wrong in favor of injecting as many guns as possible into 30 seconds. It is good for a plot synopsis however.
