Schwingstock Music & Camping Festival

Schwingstock Music & Camping Festival It's time to do it again! The festival formerly known as Bineroo is hosting another weekend of fun on September 28-29. Oh yeah! Bring frozen pizzas, etc.

Now called Schwingstock, it will feature 2 more full days of music on 2 stages, food, booze, camping, art, and friends. After the smashing success of the Bineroo Music and Camping Festival, we've decided to throw another party. To be held over the weekend of September 28th-29th, SchwingStock will be a great way to kick off the fall months. Join us again in Prairie Grove, Illinois for more debauche

ry, degeneracy, and some good, old-fashioned gratuitousness! Music:
There will be two stages with continuous music on both Friday and Saturday. The Backyard Stage will host a rotating cast of local bands and musicians. Though there will be scheduled sets over the course of the weekend from some smokin' local bands, this stage will largely play host to open jams, encouraging free thought and artistic expression through the unique experience of playing music with friends. So, if you play an instrument, you are greatly encouraged to bring it. If you have substantial amplification, please bring that as well. Otherwise, back-line equipment will be covered, including a full drum set, multiple percussion stations, bass-guitar-keyboard rigs, and vocal mics. The Front Porch Stage will have a slew of acoustic instruments set up for un-amplified jams during the afternoon. Multiple acoustic guitars, banjos, ukeleles, horns, hand drums, and assorted percussion will be available for use. Again, if you play an acoustic instrument, please bring it; this is an open forum for all musicians, dancers, artists, and other participants. The purpose of this stage is to host drum circles, string band music, and folk song/dance within a mellow, small ensemble environment. Watch the sun set while listening to your favorite bluegrass tunes or African rhythms. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for secret string band and DJ sets throughout the weekend - on hidden stages! Outdoor music will take place between noon-midnight each night. After the last notes are played on the Backyard Stage, all equipment will be promptly carried inside the house for late night jams all night long on the Play Room Stage! Activities:
Beyond the music, eating, and drinking, there will also be a slew of outdoor activities including: volleyball, sticks, beer pong (& other assorted drinking games), horse shoes, evening campfires, and more. There will be a full Bineroo market, complete with handmade goods, unique antiques, hats, a tie-dye station, jewelry station, and more. In addition, there will be several drum circles and cultural workshops, aiming to bring appreciation to the different cultures and customary art that the world has to offer. Or if you just want to chill, have a drink, and soak it all in, be sure to snag a spot in one of our hammocks. By day, Bineroo is a cultural potpourri, bringing together friends old and new through music and art. By night, the Backyard comes to life, with LED's and lasers lighting the natural amphitheater of trees that surrounds the Biner Complex. A party that goes well into the night and into the next day, Bineroo will be chock full of fun and surprises that is not to be missed. Camping:
Camping space is available behind the Backyard Stage. Couch and bed spots are limited, so camping is encouraged. Though I know some of us will see the sun both set and rise, others may want to rest up for the next day. We don't want anybody drinking and driving, so please bring a tent, sleeping bag, and pillow, or arrange for a safe ride home. Music and drinking recommences on Saturday at noon, so the party never stops. For those that choose to camp on Saturday night, there will be a giant brunch on Sunday morning, followed by our traditional Sunday afternoon bluegrass jam. It's going to be a weekend full of good music and good friends! Food and Drink:
We will have a significant amount of food and booze. Though, if you want to keep the party going, please bring something to chip in. There will be a keg each night and assorted liquor. However, we are calling this a BYOB event, so please don't come empty handed. We want to have plenty of food and drinks for everyone. We will have the BBQ running 24 hours a day, so bring something that you want grilled; bring a pre-made dish or ingredients to make something when you want. for late night snacking, or bring appetizers to munch on. Don't forget about brunch on Sunday morning, so you can even bring something that you'd like to eat for breakfast. We are calling this a BYOB-potluck, if you want to eat or drink; if you don't, we want you there for the festivities! DD's welcome! Parking:
Though there will be a good amount of street parking, it is limited. If you are local and within a reasonable distance, please walk, bike, or get dropped off; that way you can return home each night if you don't want to camp (though camping is encouraged). If you must drive, please try to carpool if possible; if you can't, it's not a huge deal. Again, we don't want any driving while intoxicated, so please plan ahead. Full artist lineup and schedule TBA. Stayed tuned in the following days for updates and news on the festival. Let's make SchwingStock better than the last time. Can't wait to get it started!

Well, another Schwingers club meeting is in the books. Thank you so much for everyone that made it out for the festivities. It was great so many old friends and new friends in the same place. You guys made it happen.

The whole weekend was a blast: Tons of great music (Jerry's Kids, Stow Away, Home Groan, Ragnar, etc), fantastic beer (thanks to Zach for bringing 6 kegs of home-brew, Mitch for getting the rest, and Keegan for bringing tons of imports, liquor, and food), fire dancing, hooping, and poi (Jess, Jess, Chassee, Kasey, etc.), and so much more. Everybody chipped in and made Schwingstock what it was.

Thanks for keeping it real. We will let you know when and where this will happen again; we gotta get back to The Mothership.

Ah-Woo! It's official; we will be graced with a full moon for Schwingstock! That means plenty of light and sacred energy will be shining over our outdoor festivities.

Moontribe unite: let's all howl at the moon together this weekend. Group hoot @ 12:00am each night. Bring your party hat because it's just about that time.

Just added: Saturday - Jerry's Kids 2x sets

Hello people! We start the Schwingstock party tomorrow afternoon. We're looking forward to a weekend full good music, good vibes, and good beer. There is going to be plenty to do at this Schwingstock: from beerlympics and yard games, to fire spinning and hoop workshops, to interactive DJ sets and drum circles; we will be letting it all hang out.

We have feature performances by Jimmy Nick & Don't Tell Mama, Stow Away, Ragnar, Home Groan, The Fu***rs, Jurassic Robot, and many more. (Keep an eye out for secret reunion sets as well.) Hop over to the acoustic stage for performances by Home Groan, The Bineroo Ramblers, The Cosmic Shame, and more. And we will be chock full of late night DJ sets from the likes of Izanaki, FROGGYstyle, DJ Mr. Biner, DJ Tall Man, and more.

Come early and stay long. This will be a weekend for the books. Bring a guitar, a hoop, poi, some food, beer, booze, bubbles, face paint, rage sticks, frisbees, hammocks, tents, camelbacks, lights, fog, or just about anything else that you would take to a festie. Many hands make light work. See you all this weekend.

90's theme if you got it. Otherwise costumes, hats, and feathers are the key words. Kimono, Dog.
