The Ohio Grassroots Campaign (OGC) is real, it's a movement, and it is the ultimate push to accomplish not only our dreams as filmmakers and show Hollywood that we have 'what it takes,' but to do something good for our community. The OGC was founded on the principle that you must do good to be good, and our do-gooding is at maximum capacity. Throughout 2011 Physis Films, the parent company of the
Ohio Grassroots Campaign, will be raising funds to film a feature length film, in its entirety, in Ohio. "So what?" you ask. "Feature films are shot in Ohio all of the time." They certainly are, but how often do you hear of those films exclusively benefiting Ohio-based companies? Unfortunately, it doesn't happen as frequently as we would like. All-too-often locations are the only aspect of a film that are local to Ohio, with film equipment, props and especially talent being outsourced from major markets such as Los Angeles. Our aim is to change this, and so with our true intentions and professional staff, we at Physis Films have set out to raise the very approachable $50,000 to produce a feature length script. The catch, if you will, is our plan to spend every cent of the funds raised on Ohio's goods and services. From props, to wardrobe, to Ohio-born talent, we want to give back to the community that has allowed us to pursue our dreams. With the support of fellow Ohioans and filmmakers alike, we hope to create 20-30 jobs, produce a film that is industry quality and stimulate Ohio's economy.
