Marketers, founders, creatives — we spend so much of the year helping others show up, tell their story, and stay consistent. But this Thanksgiving, let’s give ourselves permission to do something radical:
✨ Pause.
✨ Breathe.
✨ Log off without guilt.

And as we reflect, it’s important to remember: the story of Thanksgiving isn’t just cozy tables and gratitude quotes. It’s also a holiday with a complicated history — one we can acknowledge with honesty, respect, and awareness while still choosing to hold space for gratitude today.

Here’s what I hope you feel this week:
🌿 Gratitude for the creativity you bring into the world.
🌿 Grace for the days you’re tired, uninspired, or simply human.

8 years ago, Brand Maven was born in a space just like this. In a tiny den, at a messy simple desk.

Coffee cups, water bottles, notebooks, planners, endless ideas - and one vision that was burning inside my brain brighter than anyone could ever ignore.

I didn’t have fancy tools or a studio… just heart, hustle, and a belief that creativity and strategy could coexist beautifully.

From this corner of my little one bedroom apartment in Marrietta, GA came something bigger than I ever imagined.

✨ The Maven Era began here, and on November 14th, it begins again.

I'm tired of containing my excitement when my happy little marketing brain sees something cool. So here's an installment for my Campaign Round-Up, where I'll blab a little about ads I love and why. In no particular order, here are some favs from this Fall:

- The x campaign - Yes, of course the clothes themselves are lovely. But it's the beauty behind the campaign strategy I really appreciate. Capturing the sultry grittyness of old-world Italy, while playing with the well known sisterly feud of Kim and Kourtney Kardashian - genius.

- - I LOVE these movie "takeovers". Luggage, phones, fast food, clothing, beauty products, the wardrobe during the press tour - the pink and green took over. Wicked is a cultural phenomenon and the campaigns surrounding the feature film were perfect for immersing fans in the world of Oz before they even stepped in the theatre.

- Holiday campaign - This is the 3rd year of Kroger's use of claymation to tell tear-jerking heart-warming stories in their advertisements. We all know that grocery shopping in November and Decemeber can be PAINFUL, especially these days, so these adorable reminders of WHY we do it is so refreshing to see.

2021 has brought me both success and career fulfillment I could have never imagined, and pain and loss that almost no one could fathom. Obviously, due to my experiences, both positive and not, I have been on unannounced hiatus from my businesses. But my passion and dreams for these brands and the people they serve have never left my mind. So now, I'm back.

In this final quarter of 2021, I will be sharing with you all new initiatives, new opportunities, and new perspectives.
