Congratulations to our theatre company students who won technical awards at the recent Southern California Fullerton Festival honoring performing arts in schools. Our teams won the "Tool Relay" where with technical precision and speed, demonstrated their deft skills in drilling, hammering and other aspects necessary to stagecraft and our light designers demonstrated their "brilliance" by winning "Fastest Light Focusing!"
While we don't focus on awards at the Aliso Niguel Theatre Company, it is nice to have the kids recognized for their skills. Not all the students in the theatre company are performers; many focus instead on the critical operational elements of the shows. Some even do all! We have an outstanding student staff and crew!!!! See them in action at PIPPIN! #anhstealtown Capistrano Unified School District
As the theatre company is operated by the students, click on photo to see what they were up to this weekend! Video does not have sound. Hats off to the fabulous student crew who organized this! Because physical labor was not enough, they also worked to promote PIPPIN by distributing flyers to local businesses. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwQVDLwhAAs/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=14hf6y6obnuba
A professional magician from Hollywood’s famed Magic Castle serves as a consultant on PIPPIN and has taught the actors fun tricks! The lovely Ariana demonstrates in fine fashion!

Commedia dell'Arte is a form of theater that began in Italy in the sixteenth century. Characters are identified by the costumes, masks, and props they used.
The Italian street performers wore masks with exaggerated comic features. They draw further attention to themselves with physical and acrobatic techniques. Source: New World Encyclopedia
Here is a peek of some of the masks to be used in PIPPIN.
Parents were treated to a behind the scenes look at PIPPIN last night. They are shown here learning about the hair and make-up designs used in the show. A lot of thought and artistry goes into the process as special looks/designs are developed for each performer.
Meet the super talented student we call PIPPIN! We are thrilled that our show opens in one week. Join us! Dates and tickets on link. http://bit.ly/PippinANTC
