Happy Birthday to the greatest pure babyface in the history of the business.
If he were a modern wrestler, he would be a 10-15 time World champ across multiple companies plus a bunch of IC and US and many, many world tag titles because that's how it is now.
As it is, he's one of the most decorated wrestlers ever, coming from a time when it wasn't done like that.
Ric Flair's greatest opponent (Sorry Sting and Dusty. It's never been either of you):
Richard Blood (another person who's real name is better than their wrestling name): Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

Once again WWE lets us down, you bring the Undertaker down at the Super Show who is way past his prime to defeat AJ Styles in record time, what a Joke. Federation is loaded with talented athletes both male and female but the Bookers / writers do not know how to utilize or call a show, just my opinion folks!

02/26/2020

I look forward to watching NWA power every week, my only hope is that they increase it to two hours in the future, I watch every single minute unlike WWE and AEW which I only watch the highlights to, MLW I also watch every single minute, I have said it before and I will say it again Billy is doing such a great job bringing his version of the NWA back.

01/27/2020

I just finished watching the ending to the Royal Rumble and could not be happier to see the well-deserved Drew McIntyre winning it and getting a shot at the title, this guy will win the title and should run along rain with that belt cuz he is definitely an underrated superstar that deserves the best!

01/27/2020

I am watching WWE Royal Rumble so I do not know who won it as of yet but it is a joke how they have Lesnar eliminating everyone simply a freaking joke.

01/27/2020

Once again I must say the Titles in WWE are a Joke, when Bruno, Backlund, and Graham, held the Belt it had alot of meaning, in my opinion The Prestige of the title started to diminish when cartoon character Hulk Hogan came into the WWF, and now with the stupid Universal title and this title and that title it's like a joke, there should be just one World Title and maybe like Intercontinental Title or US Title this is just my opinion

I always liked Crusher Blackwell. By the time the AWA started coming on a local station here, he had turned "good" so I missed the Sheiks team with Patera but I even loved that old footage.

This day in history
1995 - The "Mountain from Stone Mountain", Jerry Blackwell dies of complications from pneumonia at age 55. Blackwell was a top star in the AWA, having feuds with Bruiser Brody and Michael Hayes. Blackwell won titles in the AWA, Memphis, Alabama and St. Louis.

01/21/2020

I have been watching Wrestling since the 1970's and in my opinion the Championships in WWE do not mean sh*t anymore, fast-forward to the resurgence of the NWA and what a Great Job Billy Corgan has done, and in my opinion I think Nick Aldis is Truly the Real World Champion.

01/11/2020

Tessa Blanchard is my favorite female Wrestler but now I have to add a Second, The One and Only Thunder Rosa, Both of these Women are destined for Greatness!

01/08/2020

National Wrestling Alliance, NWA Power, love everything about it, Great Job Billy!

10/09/2019

NWA Studio Wrestling is Back, I sure like what Billy Corgan has done, Wrestling is Great right now with Aew, Nwa, and Mlw bringing back Old School Wrestling!

09/09/2019

I am so much rooting for the NWA to make it big, I have been a wrestling fan since the early 70s growing up in New York we could only get wwwf, I remember traveling to New Jersey one day and skipping through channels picked up the NWA on super station 17, it was my first taste of the national wrestling Alliance and that was without a doubt one hotbed of wrestling back in the day, feeling positive that Corrigan is bringing it back to what it once was!

09/07/2019

I was watching AEW Wrestling and the Casino Battle Royal with the women, was it just me or was the wrestling kind of sloppy?

07/31/2019

I am disappointed that the NWA broke ties with ROH, as a Wrestling Fan starting back in the 70's I was loving the copromotion , I realize Billy Corgan said the door is still open and I really hope so, also I would like to see Impact and MLW join in under the NWA Banner.

07/30/2019

It's not unusual, for y'all to disagree with my posts. That being said, I think the WWE 24-7 belt is the dumbest damn thing I've ever seen! Tonight, they actually compared it to the belt that Bruno Samartino held! Your thoughts?

This Day in history, WCW had the opening rounds of a fantastic tag team tournament for the NWA World tag titles.
This was the show where "Let's hook 'em up!" became the unofficial catchphrase for the Bill Watts-run WCW.
This was also the first time Rick and Scott Steiner--New Japan's top team at the time--faced Steve Williams and Terry Gordy--All Japan's top tag team on "free" tv in a (kinda/sorta) rematch from their ppv match, which went to a time limit draw.
Some of us were expecting the Headhunters from Puerto Rico but it was not to be.
1992 - Clash of the Champions XIX was shown on TBS. This marked the first and only time that a Clash Of The Champions event was not aired live. The matches were taped in Charleston, South Carolina at the McAllister Fieldhouse on June 16th, even though the show did not air until after the Beach Blast PPV on June 20th. Here are the results of the show, which was built around first round matches in the NWA World Tag Team Title Tournament (the rest of the tournament was held at the Great American Bash Pay-per-view):
First round matches:
- Ricky Steamboat & Nikita Koloff defeated Joe & Dean Malenko.
- Rick Rude & Steve Austin defeated Marcus Bagwell & Tom Zenk.
- Terry Gordy & Steve Williams defeated Larry & Jeff O'Day.
- Rick & Scott Steiner defeated Miguel Perez, Jr. & Ricky Santana.
- Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes defeated Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton.
- The Freebirds (Michael Hayse & Jimmy Garvin) defeated El Texano & Silver King.
- Jushin Liger & Brian Pillman defeated Chris Benoit & Beef Wellington.
- Akira Nogami & Hiro Hase defeated The Headhunters (Arn Anderson & Bob Cook under masks).
Quarterfinal match:
- Terry Gordy & Steve Williams defeated Rick & Scott Steiner.

Talk about matches that had to be great because the guys involved didn't have bad matches.
In any discussion of "Most Popular" or "Most Successful" tag teams, if you don't include Steamboat and Youngblood, you invalidate your whole list.

This Day in History...

1980 - Ray Stevens & Jimmy Snuka defeat Rick Steamboat & Jay Youngblood for the NWA World Tag Team Title in Greensboro, North Carolina, ending Steamboat & Youngblood's second title reign.

Missed it by a day but I want to honor the legacy of Junkyard Dog a little.
This Day in History
1982 - Junkyard Dog defeats Bob Roop for the Mid-South North American Heavyweight Title in New Orleans, Louisiana, starting his first run with the belt.

Just so people know, Bobby Eaton is one of the best workers in the history of the business and was mostly self-taught.
You don't see that anymore.

BOBBY EATON HEALTH UPDATE
By Mike Johnson on 2019-06-20 15:51:00
All-time great wrestler "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton of The Midnight Express has been hospitalized since last Friday with cardiac issues. Eaton woke up that morning with his legs and other parts of his body swollen, so he went to the emergency room and has been hospitalized since then.
Eaton's long-time friend Jim Cornette took to Twitter to correct reports Eaton had suffered a heart attack, noting instead that congestive heart failure led to fluid buildup in Eaton's chest, legs and other parts of the body, forcing Eaton's heart to have to pump harder to make up the difference.
Eaton is being treated with new medications and diuretics. Cornette noted that Eaton's heart rate is down and that his Pacemaker is working fine and that the situation is improving.
Eaton, 60 years old, is considered one of the best tag team wrestlers of all time, having appearing in all incarnations of The Midnight Express as well as The Dangerous Alliance over the course of his career in Memphis, World Class, Mid-South, Jim Crockett Promotions and World Championship Wrestling, among other promotions.
PWInsider.com sends our best wishes to Bobby, his wife Debbie and the entire Eaton family. We hope for a quick, painless recovery.
