De Facultaire Studentenraad (FSR) heeft als belangrijkste doel het belang van de student te vertegenwoordigen tijdens de Facultaire Gemeenschappelijke Vergadering (FGV). Hier wordt met docenten en het faculteitsbestuur gesproken over voorzieningen, onderwijs en onderzoek aan onze faculteit. Om goede vertegenwoordigers te kunnen zijn is jullie input onmisbaar. Voor klachten, opmerkingen of advies zijn wij te bereiken via e-mail, Facebook en Twitter.

🎓 BSc Geography, Spatial Planning and Environment

📑 What is your role within the FSC?
I’m mainly focused on education! For example, I’m currently working on potential changes to the rights of OLCs. I also hold meetings with Barend about social safety on campus.

📌 What is your motivation?
I’d like to use my year as FSC to strengthen the connection with the Education Committees, so that next year’s transition goes as smoothly as possible! I also think it’s really cool to make a positive contribution to my fellow students’ experiences on campus.

🎓 BSc Political Science

📑 What is your role within the FSR?
As Treasurer, I manage our own finances and I look at the financial decision making of the faculty. I am also responsible for faculty housing, and career orientation, representing students and making their time here better.

📌 What is your motivation?
My motivation is to ensure that, especially in times of financial pressure due to government policies, the student perspective is also taken into account. The staff are or of course no (longer) students so our FSC is also there to make the decisions better reflect our needs. In doing so, I want to contribute to a better educational experience for all our students.

📑 What is your role within the FSC?
I focus on the Onderwijs- en Examenregeling (OER) and, in addition, I am committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) within the faculty. I contribute ideas for fair and accessible education and work towards a safe, inclusive study environment for everyone.

📌 What is your motivation?
My motivation for being part of the FSR, besides actively contributing to better education, is the valuable experience that provides a strong boost to your CV. Participation in the FSR is a unique opportunity to develop proactivity and collaboration skills. At the same time, you learn how decisions within this faculty are made. So, it’s super interesting!

📑 What is your role within the FSC?
I maintain contact with the Programme committees and I am involved with the education and examination regulations. I’m actually busy all the time networking here at the faculty and absorbing the opinions and problems on the programs.

📌 What is your motivation?
I like to build connections with people outside my own studies. You suddenly get a lot more of what is happening at the faculty and that is very nice to know. I like it best to interfere with the cuts by making them the least bad possible for students.

🎓 MSc International Relations

📑 What is your role within FSC?

As chair, I am mostly involved with the relationship between the faculty board and the participatory body of the faculty staff as well as the quality of our education. I regularly have meetings with the dean and vice-dean of education, the chair of the staff participatory body and policymakers of our faculty. Here we discuss the agenda of the FGV and sometimes faculty policies. I also chair FSC internal meetings and make sure that everyone can participate and that our tasks are fulfilled.

📌 What is your motivation?

For me, it is important that the perspective of students is also reflected in our faculty’s policy, especially in times where the quality of education is under pressure due to government budget cuts. We, as students, are an integral part of our academic community and should therefore have a say in the upkeep of good academic education that is fit for the future.

Would you like to help shape the future of Nijmegen School of Management? Run for a seat on the Faculty Student Council! This week we will introduce you to the 6 students that are currently representing the students of our faculty and their roles.

The nomination period for the student representative elections is open from 28 April through 4 May 2026. Besides the Faculty Student Council (FSR/FSC) you can also run for a Programme Committee (OLC), or the University Student Council (USR). In these roles, you represent the voice of students and contribute ideas on important topics such as educational quality, student well-being, facilities, policy, and the future of the university.

As a member of the student council, you have a direct influence on decisions within our faculty. You’ll collaborate with fellow students, faculty members, the faculty board, program directors, and administrators, and you’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable administrative experience, expand your network, and truly make a difference for your fellow students.

Can you see yourself having a say in education? Do you think it’s important for students to be well-represented? Do you want to contribute to improvements within your faculty? Then run for a seat! The elections will take place from 18 to 22 May 2026. The results will be announced on 28 May.

Het onderwijs staat onder druk: er wordt flink bezuinigd, en dat raakt ons allemaal.

Denk aan minder begeleiding, grotere groepen of minder voorzieningen.

👉 Juist nu is het belangrijk dat studenten laten horen wat écht niet verloren mag gaan. En dat kan via de Onderwijscommissie (OLC) of de Faculteitsraad (FSR).

🔹 In de OLC denk je mee over vakken, roosters en hoe docenten lesgeven.

🔹 In de FSR praat je mee over grotere keuzes, zoals beleid, budget en faciliteiten.

Zo zorg je ervoor dat de stem van studenten wordt gehoord bij beslissingen die direct ons onderwijs raken. 💪

🗳️ De verkiezingen voor de studentmedenzeggenschap komen er aan in mei! In deze post staan de belangrijkste data: van 28 april tot en met 2 mei kun je je online kandidaat stellen, de verkiezingen zijn van 20 tot en met 26 mei en de verkiezingsuitslagen worden op 28 mei gepresenteerd in CultuurCafe! 🙌
