Chae Soo Bin Went From Pretending to Be a Robot to Becoming a Human Charger

From pretending to be a robot to becoming a human charger, Chae Soo Bin continues to take on some of the most unconventional characters in K-drama history!

In Netflix's newly released "Take Charge of My Heart," she portrays Na Bo Bae, a romance screenwriter who develops electrical powers after being struck by lightning as a child. Unable to touch anyone without shocking them, she has spent her life avoiding physical affection.

Everything changes when she meets Baek Ho Rang (Kim Young Kwang), a wealthy heir with a battery-powered artificial heart. Surprisingly, he is immune to her electricity, while she becomes the only person capable of recharging his heart. Their unusual three-month arrangement creates a romance unlike any other.

Interestingly, Chae Soo Bin previously portrayed a woman pretending to be a humanoid robot in 2017's "I'm Not a Robot." In 2024's "When the Phone Rings," she played a sign-language interpreter living with selective mutism.

Netflix’s newly released romantic comedy *Take Charge of My Heart* is already serving up some hilariously relatable workplace moments, thanks to Chae Soo Bin and Kim Young Kwang.

In one amusing scene, Kim Young Kwang’s character, Baek Ho Rang, tells Na Bo Bae (Chae Soo Bin) about his upcoming meeting. She appears to be diligently taking notes, but her notebook reveals a completely different story: “F**k! Why am I doing this job?”

The comedy gets even better when Ho Rang asks whether she wrote everything down. Bo Bae confidently replies, “Yes, sir!” Unfortunately, her confidence faces its greatest test when he suddenly leans over to inspect her notes.
