BLORD MIGHT BE SENTENCE TO PRISON FOR 7YEARD
Let me say this clearly so people will understand what is really happening in the B Lord case.
Look at the charges filed in the Federal High Court Abuja. These are not social media arguments. These are criminal charges under Nigerian law.
The charge sheet alleges that B Lord used the picture and identity of Vincent Otse also known as VDM ( Verydarkblackman ) on Instagram through the handle .
This allegation falls under Section 22 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition Prevention etc) Act 2015 as amended 2024, which deals with identity theft and impersonation.
The charge also states that the identity and brand of VDM were used to promote a flight booking platform and create the impression that Mr Vincent Otse approved the platform for booking local and international flights.
That allegation is linked to Section 3 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006, which deals with obtaining benefit or advantage through false representation.
Another allegation states that a false public message was circulated claiming that VDM had agreed to attend a public event in Onitsha, which could make members of the public believe the claim and act on it.
That offence is also covered under Section 3 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006.
There is also a charge that the name VeryDarkMan or VDM was used on Instagram without authorization in a way that interferes with the legitimate owner of the name.
This is connected to Section 25(1) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition Prevention etc) Act 2015 as amended 2024, which deals with unlawful use of another person's identity online.
Another allegation in the charge sheet states that electronic data was altered or created to produce a fake flight ticket in the name Martins Otse.
This allegation falls under Section 13 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition Prevention etc) Act 2015 as amended 2024, which deals with computer related forgery and manipulation of electronic data.
These offences are criminal offences, and if proven in court some of them carry possible prison sentences that can go up to about 7 years imprisonment depending on the count and how the court decides.
Now let me address something very important.
𝙊𝙢𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚.
Once a criminal matter has been filed in court by the authorities, the case becomes the state versus the defendant. No activist or public figure has the legal power to withdraw it.
At the center of the complaint is still VDM, because he is the person whose identity and name were allegedly used.
This is why I keep saying that the family of B Lord should act fast and negotiate with VDM if they want this matter resolved quickly. If B Lord finishes the 26 days remand and returns to court, the next stage of the case can become more serious.
My problem with Omoyele Sowore is that he is not telling B Lord the full truth about the seriousness of the situation.
This same thing happened with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Many people were making noise outside while the man involved was still facing the legal process in court.
Sowore was also speaking strongly about that situation in the past, yet today Nnamdi Kanu is still in detention while those speaking outside are free.
The law does not operate on emotions.
The law does not understand cruise.
The law does not care about social media arguments.
The law only looks at evidence and the sections of the law that were allegedly violated.
Some people are saying the pictures used were AI generated. But people should understand that using AI generated images to impersonate someone or deceive the public can still lead to criminal liability.
Look at the charges carefully.
They are about impersonation, fraud, identity theft, computer related forgery and dissemination of false information.
But Omoyele Sowore keep talking about trademark issues about Ratel, when the charge sheet itself clearly focuses on fraud and cybercrime offences.
This case is not a joke.
Like play like play someone's son is in prison while Sowore is outside making noise and giving him false hope,He is just pushing your son to prison more and more..
The Igbo community and leaders in Anambra State should swallow pride and look for a way to resolve the issue instead of allowing SOWORE to use their son (B Lord) to be doing content online and granting interviews from street to street.
I am saying this from a place of love and concern for humanity.
Even if B Lord is granted bail today, he will still return to court to face the charges.
The real solution is to tackle the issue from the root, not just cut branches.

The law does not take jokes.
The law does not say it is just cruise.
The law is the law.
