For more than five decades, Ghulam Rasool Ahangar has carved Kashmir’s natural world into walnut—chinar leaves, unfolding flowers and birds resting among branches.

At 72, the master craftsman continues to work from his workshop in Rainawari, Srinagar. Each piece carries the patience of a lifetime, the lessons of his uncle, and his own understanding of the wood.

By teaching others, he passes on something no finished object can preserve alone: the knowledge of how to make it.

What happens when poetry becomes something you can see, touch, and wear?

Artist Masood Hussain brings the Vaakhs of 14th-century mystic poet Lal Ded onto Pashmina, creating a dialogue between poetry, painting and one of Kashmir’s most enduring crafts.

Across twenty hand-painted shawls, centuries of cultural memory find a new visual language, one that asks us to see heritage not simply as something inherited, but as something that can continue to evolve.

From Kashmir to the World Cup stage. 🏂🇮🇳

Zubair Ahmad Lone has emerged as one of India’s leading alpine snowboarders, winning 13 medals across Europe in the past year, including 2 golds and 1 silver.

After four years of dedicated training and international competition, Zubair made history in December 2025 as the first Indian to qualify for and compete in a Snowboard World Cup, in Mylin, China.

His journey has even earned recognition from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), which called it “The Greatest Snowboarding Journey You’ve Never Heard Of…”

A historic milestone for Zubair - and a proud moment for Indian winter sports.
