Acclaimed French actress Isabelle Huppert will do a live reading at the Cork Midsummer Festival on June 14th. She was in THE CRIME WAS MINE which we screened in December 2024. Does anyone remember if she's been other films we've shown?

Our last film of the season is the satirical thriller directed by acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi. It follows an auto mechanic named Vahid who, after a minor car accident, kidnaps a man he believes was his prison torturer.

It won the Palme d'Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and is noted for its "mordant gallows humour" and exploration of revenge and moral ambiguity.

We show it on Thu 16 April at 7:30pm. Come early for a glass of wine to celebrate the season.
