As the atmosphere and implied meaning of some built environment is already forgotten by those who are in it often, Oft Interiors is insisted to picking up what has been left in our daily surroundings, for those who habitually use these spaces. With the manner of thoughtfulness, Oft Interiors creates numbers of tailor-made commercial spaces such as cinemas and retails shops that keep reminding us m

eanings of these spaces and reasons to get inside more often. Creativity and innovation of Oft Interiors is more widely recognized by the public and the industry, as it produces design that is closer to real life and real thoughts of clients and users, as the team has maximize significance of users than applying excessive own design signature into the works. Throughout long service as an innovative yet stick-to-ground design consultant, Oft interiors believes that dedication to clients’ actual needs and thoughts while making the most of the team’s inspiration, is the dogma of success in the industry, as well as trust of clients.

Introducing C.M. Jao - Jury Member of the K-Design Award

We are excited to highlight cm jao, co-founder of Oft Interiors Ltd and a respected jury member of the K-DESIGN AWARD. A graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, CM specializes in innovative shopping malls and leisure spaces.
Since co-founding Oft Interiors in 2013, he has focused on creating unique commercial environments, particularly in cinemas and retail spaces. With over 100 completed projects across Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific, CM’s work enhances user experience and strengthens community connections.
He believes that each project has its own distinct character, allowing for inventive design solutions. CM’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of interior design continues to make a significant impact in the industry.

CM Jao, co-founder of Oft Interiors Ltd and a graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design (2007), specializes in shopping malls and leisure spaces. OFT Interiors was thrilled to be part of the recent "設交 領航” event, co-hosted by the Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA) and the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) in Guangzhou on March 19-20. The event brought together over thirty talented designers from the Greater Bay Area, featuring industry leaders like Danny Cheng, CM Jao, Eric Tam, and Wang Xiaofeng.

The first day kicked off with a forum titled "灣區設計新視野," where designers from Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen shared insights on emerging trends and innovative ideas in the Bay Area design scene. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore collaboration and build connections. cm jao also joined a gala dinner, fostering relationships with interior designers from around the globe.

On the second day, attendees participated in a panel discussion at the World Summit, focusing on "The Role of Cultural Intelligence In International Design Success". C.M. Jao presented his perspective on design enriched by cultural insights, alongside other experts in the field. The day also included a visit to the 55th China (Guangzhou) International Furniture Expo and a networking session with real estate developers, allowing participants to showcase their work and explore new business opportunities in mainland China.

This event truly highlighted the dynamic and collaborative spirit of the Greater Bay Area’s design community, and OFT Interiors is excited to be part of this innovative journey.

"HIKU ヒク"

"HIKU ヒク" means “PULL” in English, and it really captures the vibe of our design, which is all about transforming materials.

This project explores the creative possibilities of materials, especially highlighting stainless steel in unique ways.

And this is my first collaboration with a Japanese company, and I have been amazed by our shared passion for design, even with our different backgrounds. We totally see eye to eye.

Working with Union through online and in-person meetings has changed how I approach design. I want to express the tension between materials, showcasing the dynamic relationship between Oft Interiors Ltd. and Union. Even though we mostly collaborate virtually, there is a strong connection that remains.
