Good afternoon Crafters and Makers,

We hope you are well and enjoying the Bank Holiday!

We come to you today with some disappointing news... we have suspended all further Craft Cinema events for 2026 and beyond.

The reason for this being the low footfall to both our cinema and market events across the different venues we have been able to test with our supportive partners. Feedback from yourselves demonstrates there is no ideal time, place, or film genre that work for the majority of the community, and this has been reflected across the events we have been running since February 2025.

We are not closed to running some events in the future, but for now Carley and I wish to invest time into other solo projects we are working on.

We would like to thank you all for your support either as a Crafter, Maker, or both! And we hope to see you in crafting communities around York in the future.

Another returning vendor for our Maker's Market, starting at noon, is Caroline from Beaded Treasures, who sell beaded and hand crafted items - Pens, Keyrings, Mirrors, Jewellery, Magnets, Make up Brushes and more.

Another new vendor joining us for our April event is Lexi from Wicks Candles

Whimsical Wicks Candle Company was born from stories and a deep love of getting completely lost in them. Lexi is the creative force behind Whimsical Wicks, and she crafts purposeful, one-of-a-kind scents, each with a story designed to captivate the senses. Every scent is hand poured in York and thoughtfully created to bring you comfort and warmth.

We are back after the Bank Holiday welcoming back one of our original Maker's Market vendors, Emily of Leaf on Letter designs!

Emily makes cards, bookmarks, and frameable art, and each piece is a hand-drawn original using ink and coloured pencil. If plants, hedgehogs, mushrooms, or abstract flowing lines are your thing, come and check out her stall!

As we step into the Easter weekend we are excited to introduce another of our vendors for our April event...

Lellybean Studio: Designed for the creatively chaotic.
Leanne is a cat mum from Yorkshire, where she lives with her husband, Phil. She illustrates her characters and stationery items alongside streaming on Twitch, where she curates a community that welcoming for all to be who they truly are, creative, cosy and a little chaotic!

Introducing our first vendor joining us for our April Maker's Market...

"The Paired Palette Co is your go to for hand drawn colouring books, children’s activity packs and with the new addition of The Education Palette we now sell educational resources. We are a LGBTQ+ friendly female owned brand and believe that colouring and education should be accessible for all no matter ability, age or preferences."
