Inspired by and I wanted to give it a go myself 🫶🏻

It’s very rare when you’re busy running a business that you actually stop and look at your past, present and future clients….but it was such a good reminder of how far I’ve come in the last two years.

Looking back, I’ve worked with some amazing people and businesses, including the BBC. If you’d told me three years ago, before I’d even started this business, that I’d one day be getting paid to work with the BBC, I genuinely wouldn’t have believed you.

Looking at where I am now, I can honestly say that the clients I work with reflect the kind of work I enjoy doing and where I want my business to be. I’ve consciously reduced my workload this year and moved away from clients that weren’t quite the right fit…so everyone I work with now feels really aligned (although this only includes my retained clients)! There’s always room for ad-hoc projects 😊🙏🏻

And then looking ahead, it’s exciting to think about the sectors I’d still love to work in and the opportunities I’d like to create for myself. Manifesting the s**t out of this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂😂

Definitely worth doing if you’re a business owner. It’s a nice way to reflect on where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you’d like to get to. If you do it, tag us so we can see yours too 👇

You don’t need to be posting every day‼️

Honestly, that’s one of the biggest mistakes I see 👀

People get a spare day, they batch a load of content, post every day for a week…and then life gets busy and they disappear for a month 😬

And then they assume social media “doesn’t work for them”!! It does work, yours is just inconsistent.

You’re far better off posting twice a week, every week, than doing loads in one go and then going quiet for weeks.

Because consistency will always beat volume. Even when I first started my business, I was probably only posting once a week on here and social media is my bloody job/I’ve been fully booked (give or take) since day dot. So NO, you don’t need to be on Instagram every day to get enquiries and I’ve proved it!!

However, that said, if you’re going to post less, you do at least need to know who you’re talking to.

Most people’s content ends up being a bit…general.
A bit of everything. Something for everyone. And as a result it doesn’t really land with anyone.

And then they wonder why nothing converts 😩

Most of the time it’s not a content problem. It’s a “you’re not speaking directly enough to the right person” problem. And if you’re trying to fix that by just posting more…it still won’t change anything.

Save this if you needed the reminder that consistency matters, but clarity on who you’re speaking to, also matters just as much 🫶🏻

I think this has been my busiest month for adhoc content filming work since going self-employed almost 2 years ago 🫶

As I’ve consciously reduced some of my retained management work to make more time for my second business .studio.space and more importantly, time with my son, adhoc work has given me the flexibility to choose how much I take on and when.

The last fortnight alone has been FULL ✨ I’ve had 3 new clients book adhoc content filming sessions, alongside squeezing in one of my quarterly filming days with a retained social media management client too 👌🏻

A reminder that content filming sessions can be booked completely adhoc, no memberships or retainers needed.

Sessions can be booked hourly and are just £60 per hour, including all raw footage + imagery captured for you to keep, ready for you to use however you like! Half and full day packages are also available, DM me for details!

Perfect if you want fresh content for socials without the commitment of ongoing management ✨

And I’m now taking bookings from July onwards 📅

PART 2 ✌🏼

I’ve had A LOT of jobs in my time…and in truth, I’ve been a bit crap at parts of all of them 😂

But I genuinely think every single job teaches you something. Even the ones that don’t end up being “your thing”. Even the ones you outgrow. Even the ones that make you realise exactly what you DON’T want!

Every role I’ve had has given me a skill or experience I use now, in my own business, every single day.

The law firm taught me about real pressure and target driven environments (see Part 1)! Nightclub work proved to me how much energy and confidence I had, plus how to connect with people quickly, even when they’re drunk 😂 Side Note: Drunk people will buy anything 😂😂😂 Working in a school taught me the skill of organising large scale events. And my retail jobs taught me the importance of the client experience and how important it is to make people feel comfortable and heard.

And equally…the bits I wasn’t good at taught me just as much too!

They taught me I’m not built for overly repetitive work. I’m not naturally super “Type A”. I don’t thrive in really corporate environments. In fact, I really dislike them. I need creativity, variety, freedom and people around me like I need oxygen! Genuinely.

I think as you get older, you stop seeing past jobs as random detours and start seeing how they all slowly pushed you towards the life and work that actually suits you 🙏🏻

So if you too feel like you’ve had what feels like 73636 jobs, changed direction too many times or still haven’t fully figured it out yet…that’s completely normal and also totally fine!

You’re probably learning more about yourself than you realise 👀

My posting on this page may have slowed down a little lately…but behind the scenes, my workload and client results certainly haven’t 👀✨

This lovely review was left by a client I worked with for just shy of a year and it’s been an absolute pleasure supporting their business growth through social media.

When we started out, social media marketing was fairly new territory for them. Like many business owners, they initially focused on follower numbers, but very quickly saw that social media success is about far more than vanity metrics.

Within the first month alone, they gained new clients directly through the social posts I’d created for them and that continued throughout our time working together 🙌🏻

The best client relationships are always built on trust, communication and allowing strategy to lead the way. This client gave me the freedom to truly understand their business and create content that delivered real results.

As a small business owner myself, I completely understand that budgets and priorities evolve. Some clients work with me long term (several of my clients are about to hit the two year mark!) some dip in and out when needed and others use one off services. I genuinely value every single one. My time with this client has come to an end (for now) and I wish them all the success for the future 😍😊

If you’re looking for social media support that focuses on business growth and brand awareness, not just follower counts, I’d love to help 🩵🩷🧡
