Independent cinemas are a rare and special thing, and one of our friends is currently fighting to secure its future!

The wonderful Ultimate Picture Palace in Oxford, one of the UK’s oldest independent cinemas, has launched a campaign to help protect the cinema and ensure it can continue operating in its historic home. For over a century it has been a place for audiences to discover great films, much like many of the small community cinemas we cherish across the country. ❤

If you believe places like this matter, please take a moment to support their campaign and sign the petition, indie cinemas need protecting, now more than ever!

Our final show of the season will be a very special 35mm screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 masterpiece VERTIGO on 24th & 25th April, THIS IS ONE NOT TO MISS!

Starring James Stewart, Kim Novak and Barbara Bel Geddes, this suspenseful and beautifully shot story follows John “Scottie” Ferguson, a San Francisco police detective forced into early retirement after developing a crippling fear of heights. When he’s drawn into a mysterious assignment to follow the enigmatic Madeleine, Scottie soon finds himself spiralling into a world of obsession, illusion and psychological intrigue.
