At the end of the coppicing season now. Looking back at a couple of photos of laid hedges where some of my stakes and binders have been used.
1440 hazel hedgelaying stakes cut
440 hazel hedgelaying binders cut
360 hazel beanpoles cut
190 hazel peasticks cut
+ lots of firewood and other bits that I've yet to find a market for.

Not bad for my first season considering much of the coppice was overstood.

Taking advantage of the damp weather to fill in a few gaps in the coppice with some layering. Hopefully they'll thrive, if not I have only lost a few minutes and I can always plant a few whips in the autumn.
