Dubbed a “dreamily evocative film” by the FT, our 10 June film Arcadia weaves together BFI archival footage to paint a picture of a vanishing rural Britain.

But it's not all cricket whites and cheese rolling. The film also uncovers an exotic undercurrent, drawing together the rebellious spirit of punk, countercultural music festivals, and a thread of radical dissent stretching back to the 17th-century Levellers, all bound up with images of paganism and nudism.

Arcadia promises to be a riot: visually stunning, it’s primed to both delight us and keep us on our toes.
