Our Story
I started playing bass guitar in local bands at 15 back in 1972 and enjoyed doing this for around 6 years. There were various lineups with these 3 bands: Earth, Trader & Alaska and we had some fun times and great gigs. At 21 years old I knew I wasn't going to make it as a musician, so turned my attention to PA Systems. Working with a guy called Richard we set up System 1 PA Hire and purchased an Eastmill horn loaded system. Quite powerful for its size but the large 'trap' shaped bass bins were heavy and awkward to move, especially up and down stairs :( Later I began using 2 x 15” bass speakers based on Court Acoustics ‘W bin’ designs plus SSE 2 x 12” mids and Vitavox HF. This system worked very well - local reggae bands such as Pressure Shocks and The Naturalites loved the high quality sound that could be achieved. The same system was also used for many gigs for bands such as Soft Cell, The Alarm, Meteors, The Higsons, King, The Only Ones, Prince Far I, B Movie etc.
Moving on about 35 years (!) I now have an Inspired Audio system as my main or 'Alpha Rig'. This can be seen in the home page picture of Rusty Shackle playing at the Towersey Festival. The band commented afterwards that it was the best sound they’d had and this included when they had also played a larger stage at the same festival with a Soundcraft Vi6 and D & B speakers!
In addition I have a Martin Audio system as my 'Beta Rig' - ideal for a smaller stage in a local pub/hall. I have a wide range of both digital and analogue mixers by Allen & Heath and Soundcraft plus active and passive speaker systems and can provide audio solutions for most requirements for an event with up to about 700 people. Need a larger system? I have associates who can help with a larger Inspired Audio rig or, a Turbosound rig.
