It is not every day that you come across a film about...a pigeon!
BELLA, the opening night film of the SERET Film Festival in Berlin, delivers a brilliantly chaotic road trip comedy.
Yaki is a musician with a failing career who thinks he has nothing left, until he realizes his father's sole inheritance is Bella, a rare dove with curly feathers worth a small fortune. The only problem is he accidentally gave her away.
Desperate to retrieve her, Yaki teams up with his Palestinian childhood friend Bilal and their wives for an unauthorized journey across Israel and the West Bank. To get Bella to a high-stakes bird pageant in Jerusalem, the group must navigate military checkpoints, ruin a wedding, and borrow a getaway car from newlyweds.
Powered by the magnetic chemistry between Elisha Banai and Hanna Birakh, this charming story turns complex conflict into a heartfelt comedy about friendship and second chances.
