Filmmakers from all over England compete to see who can make the best short film. The best of the best film goes up against films from around the globe at Filmapalooza, the 48HFP international film festival

With a $5000 grand prize and a chance to screen at the Cannes Film Festival, short film corner, Filmapalooza is an opportunity too good to miss! Armed with a genre, character, prop and line of dialogue our fearless filmmakers push through the sleep deprivation barrier to emerge with a creative masterpiece

🎬 THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 LONDON 48! 🎬

What a weekend. What a celebration. What a MOVIE MAGIC moment. ❤️

This past Saturday, over 300+ filmmakers from all around came together as we brought 51 films made in just 48 hours to the big screen at VUE Leicester Square, before taking the celebrations to HUCKSTER for an unforgettable Awards Ceremony & After Party. 🥂🏆

From red carpet moments, packed cinemas to cheers, tears, surprises and some seriously deserved celebrations - London showed up for its filmmakers.

And then came the awards… 👀

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR NOMINEES, RUNNER UPS AND WINNERS FOR THE 19TH ANNUAL LONDON 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT FOR 2026.

Across 17 judged award categories, our jury celebrated outstanding work across directing, writing, performance, craft, technical achievement and more. The audience in each screening group had their say and voted for their favourite in our two audience choice awards !

But ultimately, despite the accolades every team that crossed that finish line achieved something pretty extraordinary:

They made a film. In 48 hours. 🎥
And they got to see their work on the big screen in an amazing cinema thanks to our amazing friends and screening partners over at VUE Cinema in Leicester Square.

🎭 OLLY REEVES
Marketing & PR creative, performer, musician and storyteller - with a love for bold performances, dramatic twists, killer scores and stories that make you see the world differently.

🎬 VERITY D RAWLINS
Film obsessive, screenwriter at heart and two-time Manchester 48 judge, bringing a sharp eye for story, character and what makes a film stick.

🎭 TALLULAH BOND
Award-winning writer & Guildhall-trained actor, with credits including S*x Education and The Great. Expect a serious eye for performance, storytelling and originality.

🎥 ROBYN BARNES
South African-born filmmaker, singer, performer and creative - bringing a filmmaker’s eye and performer’s instinct to the panel.

🎬 MACAULEY KEEPER
Actor, writer & producer with credits spanning The Missing, 1917 and Vexed, plus award-winning short film production experience just wrapped production on a short film called "Threefold". Character-driven storytelling? He’s watching.

52 teams took on the challenge this past weekend to write, shoot, produce and edit a complete short film in just 48 hours after an amazing kick-off event hosted at Vue Cinema Leicester Square last Friday. The energy was palpable and high. Filmmakers across London and even as far as America all embraced the challenge against the clock.

With the clock striking last night as the deadline came to an end, it is now time for our jury to get to work.⏱️
Who will surprise them?
Who will move them?
Who will make them say… “HOW did they make that in 48 hours?”

We can’t wait to find out.
