Nora’s fascination with makeup and hair started at an early age. Unlike most young girls who play with cosmetics in the realm of princesses, her exposure was through quite an unusual avenue. As the youngest sibling, she was often subjected to watching horror films. To help her sleep, her parents explained that these terrifying faces were the result of special effects artistry and that there was an
ordinary human being underneath. It was then that she began to take on an interest in the transforming effects of makeup. In 2004, she trained to be a licenced Cosmetologist for the state of California, which includes hairdressing, makeup, skin care and nails. She worked in hair salons and then started freelancing as a Makeup Artist and Hairstylist in 2008 focusing on bridal and fashion makeup. She has recently attended further makeup courses to develop her skills in other areas such as theatrical makeup, camouflage makeup and special effects. Nora promotes versatility and creativity with her company More Head Makeup. Whether the client is preparing for a wedding, fashion show, or requires special effects – Nora has the capacity to creatively transform the subject into a completely different look. Or, by the same token, enhance the natural features of a client to bring out their beauty.
