So whilst 3rd May 2026 was our first filming day on Fanatical, 18th October will be our last.
I now have confirmation from Alan H***e and Margaret FLo McEwan when we can film their death scenes, and they will be bloody LOL.
Six months may seem a long time filming, but when you count the actual filming days this period covers, it is about 15. For a film running 105 minutes that is tiny.
I will need to do some clean up work on the rendered final film file, as when you keep using the same file and then process it, the quality can drop each time, and I am seeing examples of this on some of the scenes which are darker, and lost picture information due to the compression codec used removes bits of information it thinks you don't need in order to save space, and eventually it starts to look like blocks of pixels dancing about on dark backgrounds and such.
So a lesson learned for the future is not to keep on processing scenes once the edit is complete, and only put it all together when you are finished.
Anyway, i will replace the bits that have lost their edge by overlaying the original files where defects have been spotted. Thank goodness I have kept multiple copies of the original shots.
I think I have about 400Gb of footage now stored over four backup drives.
Once the film is complete, I will get a trailer done which I hope will play at Darkfest 10, and then if we are lucky, a showing at Horror On Sea if we are selected.
